Obituary:  Schenectady Gazette (NY), Saturday, 4 May 1957:  Leo M. Petre, 46, of 2123 Hugh street, died yesterday in his home after a sudden illness.  Bond Funeral home will be open tomorrow after 7 p.m. and the funeral will be from there Monday at 10 a.m.  At 10:30 a Eucharist service will be celebrated in St. Paul's Episcopal Church.  Burial will be in Memory's Garden.  Mr. Petre was born in Hobart April 24, 1911.  Since coming to Schenectady 16 years ago he worked as a stock clerk at the General Electric Co.  He was a member of St. Paul's Church.  Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Jessie Saxton Petre; a son, Garry Petre of Schenectady; and a sister, Mrs. Fred Hitchock of High Mills.

Saxton Petre.  Wife of the late Leo Petre of 1123 High Street.  Mother of Garry Petre of Voorheesville.  Sister of Mrs. Mae Hall of Waynesboro, Virginia.  Grandmother of Tracy Terry of Troy, Joni Scholz of New York City and Michelle Petre of Voorheesville.  Funeral service Friday afternoon at 4 o'clock at St. Paul's Episcopal Church.  Relatives and friends are invited.  There will be no calling hours by request.  Interment Memory's Garden.  Those who so desire may contribute in her memory to St. Paul's Episcopal Church.  Arrangements by the Bond Funeral Home.

Garry Lee Petre:  The Record (Troy, NY), Thursday, 7 August 2008: Voorheesville - Garry Leigh Petre passed away suddenly on Monday, August 4, 2008.  Garry was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving his country from 1957 through 1961.  He received his master's degree in business administration from SUNY Albany.  Garry was the owner of the former Parc V Cafe and most recently a partner at R&R Auto in Schenectady.  In 1953, Garry earned the highest rank in Boy Scouting, Eagle Scout, and was a member of Order of the Arrow.  He was a member of the Restaurant and Bar Association.  He is the husband of Jeannie M. Petre.  He is the father of Tracy Terry and her husband Floyd of Lansingburgh, Joni Scholz and her husband Albert of Virginia Beach, VA, and Michelle Wickum and her husband Todd of Virginia Beach, VA.  He is the grandfather of Taylor Scholz, Christopher Terry, Daniel Scholz, James Wickum, Maxwell Wickum and Jennifer McCue; great-grandfather of Rayne and Hailey Barnes.  Dearest Dad, you left too quickly for us to be able to tell you how much you mean to our family.  We will take your love for us along for the rest of our lives.  You will be forever missed by your wife, daughters and grandsons.  Rest in Peace.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 1 p.m. Saturday at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home in Colonie.  Calling hours will precede the service from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.  Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in Memory's Garden.  In lieu of flowers, and at the request of the family, memorial contributions would be appreciated to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, Chicago, IL; or Twin Rivers Council, Boy Scouts of America, Albany, NY, in memory of Garry L. Petre.
