Obituary: The Times Herald (Port Huron, MI), Saturday, 9 January 1965: New Baltimore - Mrs. Helen P. Peters, 65, of 51142 Washington Street retired Anchor Bay School teacher, died Friday in Brookfield, Wis., where she was visiting a son. Mrs. Peters was born Jan. 13, 1899, in St. Clair. She was a teacher in Anchor Bay School District 15 years. Her husband, Leo Peters, died in 1958. Mrs. Peters is survived by two sons, Robert Peters, Salisbury, Md., and James Peters, Brookfield; two daughters, Mrs. Jean Rivard, New Baltimore, and Mrs. Lois Kelley, Fraser; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Vossen, Marine City, and Mrs. Laura McMillan, St. Clair; a brother, Lee Balfour, Detroit, and 10 grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 9:30 a.m., Monday in Gendernalik Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. in St. Mary Queen of Creation Catholic Church. Rev. Edmund Schwager, assistant pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The remains will be in the funeral home after noon Sunday. Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

Robert Leo Peters: The Daily Times (Salisbury, MD), Tuesday, 23 July 1968: Robert L. Peters, 42, of Benjamin Drive suffered a heart attack Sunday morning and was pronounced dead on arrival at St. Joseph's Hospital, Mt. Clemens, Mich. Mr. Peters was the plant superintendent for Chris Craft Corp Salisbury, and was on a business trip when he was stricken at the home of his sister Mrs. Elmer Rivardo, of New Baltimore, Mich. He had been associated as plant supervisor for that company for 15 years, having first joined it in Algonac, Mich. 21 years ago. He was born in Detroit, the son of the late Leo Laurence and Helen Pearl Balfour Peters. In addition to his wife, Mrs. Ethel R. Peters, he is survived by a son, Gregory R. Peters, Salisbury, two daughters, Linda K. and Suzanne M. Peters, Salisbury, one other sister, Mrs. John W. Kelly of Mt. Clemens, Mich.; a brother, James R. Peters, Milwaukee, Wic. and several nieces and nephews. A veteran of World War II, he served with the Navy in the Pacific Theatre. He was the treasurer of Wicomico Yacht Club. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. from St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. The Rev. John Farrington will officiate. Interment will be in Springhill Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the Holloway Funeral Home Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 and after 9:30 Wednesday morning. Prayers will be said at the funeral home Tuesday evening at 8:30.

Mrs. Rivard was a cook for Anchor Bay Schools, retiring in 1987. She enjoyed baking, crocheting, and reading. Dear wife of Elmer whom she married on September 20, 1947, in New Baltimore; loving mother of Richard (Rose), David (Linda), Diane (E.J.) Teller; dear grandmother of five and one great-grandson; dear sister of Lois (John) Kelley. Predeceased by brothers, Robert and James Peters. Arrangements by Gendernalik Funeral Home, New Baltimore.
