Obituary: The Courier (Houma, LA), Sunday, 29 December 1985: Lawrence Joseph Pitre, 80, a native of Terrebonne Parish and a resident of Houma, died at 10 a.m. Saturday. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until 11 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until 11 p.m. Monday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Religious services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Chauvin Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Bisland Cemetery of Bourg. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Girdie Ribicheaux Pitre, three sons, the Rev. Thaddeus, Lawrence Jr. and Ernest Pitre, all of Houma; two daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Gloria) Dugas and Mrs. Thomas (Diana) Crabtree, both of Houma; three brothers, Edward Sr., Horace Sr. and Alvin Pitre Sr., all of Terrebonne Parish; 24 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Euzelien Pitre and Mrs. Agnes Trosclair Pitre, three brothers, Clarence, Andrew, and John (Junius) Pitre; three sisters, Mrs. Vivian Thibodeaux, Mrs. Gladys Landry Short and Mrs. Florance Robichaux; and three grandchildren Girdie Dupre, Frank J. Pitre and Junius Pitre. He was a member of Bethel Temple Church. Chauvin Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Friday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with burial in Bisland Cemetery. She is survived by two sons, the Rev. Thaddeus Pitre and Lawrence Joseph Pitre Jr., both of Houma; two daughters, Gloria Dugas of Gray and Diana Crabtree of Houma; one sister, Mrs. Alden (Edith) Bailey of Picayune, Miss.; 28 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Joseph Pitre Sr.; her parents, Michelle and Velida Belanger Robichaux; and one son, Ernest Pitre. She was an employee of the Louisiana State Department of Transportation.

Bro. Thaddius Joseph Pitre, 86, a native of Houma and a resident of Jasper,
Texas, died Sunday, April 17, 2011. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to
funeral time Thursday at Samart Funeral Home of Houma. Religious services
will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with burial at Rogers
Cemetery in Houma. He is survived by one brother, Lawrence Pitre Jr.;
two sisters, Gloria Dugas and Diana Pitre; and numerous nieces and
nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Terrebonne Pitre;
his parents, Lawrence Pitre Sr. and Gertie Robichaux Pitre; and one
brother, Ernest Pitre. In lieu of flowers, donations to help with
funeral expenses are preferred. Samart Funeral Home of Houma is in charge
of arrangements.

Pitre; his siblings, Thaddeus Pitre, Ernest Pitre and Diana P. Crabtree; his grandsons, David Ollis Jr. and Larry Carlos Jr.; and his great-grandchildren, Elijah Anthony and Treyce Nicole Bryant. He is survived by his sons, Micheal Pitre Sr. (Joanella) and James J. LeBouef (Keisha); his step-son Shane LeBouef (Juanita); his daughters, Carolyn McDaniel, Sandra Pitre (Kenny), Darlene Spot (Andrew), Brenda Lirette (Tony) and Marjie Ollis; and his sister Gloria Dugas. He is also survived by 35 grandchildren; and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren.
