MISC:  The Day (New London, CT), Tuesday, 11 January 1938:  (extract) Leonard Pete, 23, who was paroled from the state reformatory at Cheshire some time ago, was arrested for automobile theft at the point of a revolver in Stonington this afternoon.

Obituary:  Transcript Telegram (Holyoke, MA), Wednesday, 24 December 1969:  Leonard Pete, 54, of 8 Springfield St., Chcopee, was dead on arrival Tuesday night at the Springfield Medical Center.  A spokesman at the hospital said today an autopsy performed this morning by Medical Examiner William Mosig of Springfield is still under investigation.  According to Capt. Edward J. Rojowski, head of the Chicopee Detective Bureau, there is no evidence of foul play.  He was born in Middletown, Conn., son of the late Mitchell and Lottie (Holmes) Pete, and had resided in Chicopee for the past 20 years.  Mr. Pete had been employed as a stockman for the F. W. Sickles Co. at the time of his death.  He is survived by one son, Dennis, of Belchertown; two daughters, Misses Irene of Holyoke and Doris of Belchertown; his stepmother, Mrs. Tina Pete of this city; three half brothers, Hector of Ware, Homer of California and Frazier of New York; one stepbrother, Arthur Dechambo of this city; two half sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Violette and Mrs. Marjorie Lavarnway, both of Holyoke, and several nieces and nephews.  The funeral will be held from the Arthur J. Brunelle Funeral Home, Willimansett, Saturday morning.  Burial will be in St. Rose Cemetery, Aldenville.  Calling hours at the funeral home are Thursday night from 7 to 9 and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Obituary:  Springfield Union (Springfield, MA), Tuesday, 12 July 1983:  Leah R. (Ducharme) Pete, 63, of 650 High St., formerly of Belchertown, died Sunday in University of Massachusetts Hospital, Worcester.  Born in Chicopee, she lived in Belchertown 20 years and in this city two months.  She was a communicant of St. Francis Church, Belchertown.  She leaves a son, Dennis R. of Holyoke; two daughters, Irene R. Smith of Holyoke and Doris Pete of West Brookfield; two brothers, Lawrence of Granby and Conrad of Fort Worth, Texas; a sister, Theresa H. Rule of Belchertown; and six grandchildren.  The funeral will be Wednesday morning at Beers & Story Funeral Home with burial in South Cemetery, both in Belchertown.  Donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
