- Watertown Daily Times, Tuesday, 8 May 1917: Court calendar - The next case placed on trial was that of Leonard J. Lashomb, a storekeeper of Massena, against Etta Lashomb of this city, Attorney H.C. Teepell appearing for the plaintiff, there being no defense. The parties to the action were married in this city in July, 1912, at St. Patrick's church by Rev. Father McMahon and lived together until April, 1913. No children were born to the union.
- Watertown Daily Times, Friday, 31 December 1920: (right- & left-hand edges of column deteriorated) Police Make Raid - Woman and Two Men Are Arrested and Fined - The closing days of the present year were suspiciously celebrated on Thursday night shortly after 8:30 at the residence of Mrs. Etta Lashomb, alias Mrs. Etta Martin, 405 Fa(ct)ory street, so auspiciously in fact that three patrolmen were rushed to the place, six inmates being brought (into) the police office, three of wh(om w)ere arrested and appeared (this) morning in city court. Drunkenness, disorderly conduct, alleged robbery, assault and the operation of a house of ill fame, were among the charges. Mrs. Lashomb appeared in (city c)ourt today before City Judge Joseph -- McConnell charged with violating section one of the city ordinance (rela)ting to public morality. She ple---- --- guilty to the charge and confes------ ---dgment to the amount of $50. --- ---d not have the money with --- --- her son. William, was on --- --- produced the money. Arthur Martin, aged 32 years, of Ma(ssena) and Joseph Davis, aged 22 years, --- ---wton Falls, arrested at the house were charged with being drunk and disorderly, pleaded guilty and ----as sentenced to pay a fine of $-- --- -pend 15 days in jail. Martin --- ad a $50 gold watch on his --- --g and he wanted a chance to --- --- in order to get the money (when) his friend came to the rescue and paid both fines. --- Martin was hit over the head (with a) stove poker, inflicting a lon(g d)eep gash on the side of his (face). -- Martin also claimed to the ----en that he was robbed of $3-. (An) investigation by the officers fa(iled to lo)cate the money. Dr. Page E. Thornhill was --- ---nd dressed the injuries of ----.

- Watertown Daily Times, Friday, 10 September 1971: One man was charged with failure to yield and another was admitted to Mercy Hospital after complaining of head and chest pains Thursday night following a two-car collision at the intersection of Academy and Franklin Streets. Police said the accident which occurred at 11:55 p.m., involved vehicles operated by Leonard J. Lashomb, 79, 104 S. Hamilton St., and Louis E. Secor, 25, 1620 State St. Both cars were towed from the scene. Lashomb was issued the summons for failure to yield, and Secor was taken to Mercy Hospital, where he was kept overnight for observation. He was still there this morning.
Obituary: Massena Observer (NY), Tuesday, 17 May 1977: Watertown - Leonard J. LaShomb, 86, formerly of 104 S. Hamilton St., a Massena native, died at 4:45 p.m. Thursday at the Ryan Nursing Home where he had resided the past four years. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday at the Simpson Funeral Home and 11 a.m. at Holy Family Church. Burial was made in Glenwood Cemetery. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Rose Squier, Watertown Center loop; two nephews, Reginald Simonette, Norwood, and Roland Simonette, Rochester; three nieces, Mildred Simonette, Massena and Florida, Mrs. Leoma Gross, Carthage and Mrs. Retha Beyer, 139 N. Hamilton St. Three sisters, Mrs. Maude Buck, Mrs. Delia McMann and Mrs. Orma Simonette, predeceased him and a brother died in infancy. He married Mrs. Sophia Demo Jessmer years ago. She died July 23, 1965, at the age of 82. He operated a grocery store in Massena before serving with the Army in World War I with duty in Europe. Following his discharge, he moved to the Watertown section and operated a fox farm at Watertown Center. He also operated farms and bought and sold farm real estate.

Daily Times (NY), Friday, 23 July 1965: Mrs. Sophia Demo Lashomb,
82, wife of Leonard J. Lashomb, 104 South Hamilton street, died at 7:30
this morning at the Rockey Proprietary home, 330 Flower avenue east, where she
had lived three weeks. She had been ill five years. The funeral will
be Monday at 8:30 a.m. at Simpson funeral home and 9 in Holy Family church.
Burial will be in Glenwood cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home
from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Surviving besides her
husband, are two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Deroushia, Gouverneur, and Mrs.
Lulu Love, Massena. Mrs. Lashomb was born Sept. 30, 1882, in Massena, a
daughter of Benjamin and Sophia Demo. She spent her early life in
Massena and attended school there. Years ago, she was married to
Leonard Lashomb. They had lived in Watertown 30 years. Mr.
Lashomb was in the furniture business and operated a fox farm and a dairy farm
before his retirement. Mrs. Lashomb was a member of Holy Family church.
