Obituary: Lafourche Daily Comet (LA), 15 August 2005: Landry G. Pitre, 79, a native and resident of Galliano, died at 4:20 a.m. Aug. 14, 2005. Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial at the Hebert Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Vilma F. Pitre; sons, Michael "T-Black" Pitre; daughter, Nadine Pitre; brothers Leo "Blackie" Pitre, Claude Pitre and Ecland Pitre Jr.; brother, Harris Pitre; sisters, Lelia Pitre, Norma Pitre Gisclair, Velma "Sweet" Pitre and Inez Pitre Richoux. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. He was a World War II veteran and recipient of the Purple Heart Award. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was retired. His hobbies were fishing, trawling and handyman work. Samart Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Obituary: Lafourche Daily Comet (LA): Vilma Fuselier Pitre, 84, a native of Buras, LA and resident of Galliano, LA passed away February 3, 2015. Visitation will take place on February 9, 2015 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Golden Meadow from 1:00 pm till service time. Funeral Mass will begin at 3:00 pm with burial following in Hebert Cemetery. Mrs. Pitre is survived by her daughter Nadine Pitre Cheramie, son Michael L. Pitre, grandchildren Yon M. Cheramie and Adrienne M. Cheramie, great-grandchildren Tommy Hickok Jr. and Damien Provost, brother William J. Fuselier Jr and sister Deloris "Tiny" Fuselier Savoie, and friend of the family Danny Arceneaux. She was preceded in death by her husband Landry G. Pitre, parents William J. Fuselier Sr. and Nettie Tullier Fuselier and brother Jules E. Fuselier and father of her grandchildren Farrel T. Cheramie. Mrs Vilma was a beautician and hairdresser for many years, who enjoyed going to the camp with her family and crocheting for her family and friends. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
