Obituary: North Jersey Herald and News (Passaic, NJ), Saturday, 28 April 1990: Lawrence F. Peters, 70, of Clifton died Friday. Born in Revere, Mass., he lived in Passaic before moving to Clifton 31 years ago. Mr. Peters worked for the Passaic Valley Water Commission, Clifton, for 28 years, retiring in 1977. A Marine Corps veteran of World War II, he was an active member of the Marine Corp League and the American Legion Post 8, Clifton. He was a parishioner of St. Nicholas R.C. Church, Passaic. His wife, the former Mary Wawaricz, died in 1989. Survivors include two sons, Thomas A. and Joseph J., both of Totowa; a stepson, John Borkowski of Clifton; a stepdaughter, Frances Lyons of Dover; three brothers, Alvin T. of Clifton and E. Benjamin and Carl, both of Passaic; two sisters, Claire Plaia of Nutley and Mildred Balas of Placentia, Calif.; and a grandson. Services are 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at J. C. Fila Lexington Memorial Home, Clifton, and 9 a.m. at St. Nicholas Church.

Mrs. Peters, also know as 'Jean,' was a member of Golden Age Club of Clifton and Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post 347, Clifton. Survivors include her husband, Lawrence; a son, John Borkowski of Clifton; a daughter, Frances Lyons of Dover; a sister, Anna Porucznek of Clifton; and a granddaughter. Services are 8:30 a.m. Saturday at J.C. Fila Lexington Memorial Home, Clifton, and 9 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church.

Surviving are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Peters; three half-brothers, John Borkowski, at home, Thomas Peters of Cedar Grove and Joseph Peters of Clifton; a half-sister, Miss Frances Borkowski, at home; her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Fina Warwaricz of Clifton and her paternal grandfather, Thomas D. Peters of Passaic. The funeral will be held tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. from the J.C. Fila Lexington Memorial Home with a 10 o'clock Mass at St. Nicholas R.C. Church.
