Peters, 76, of Clifton, formerly of Passaic, died Sunday.  He was a caretaker for Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, Lexington Avenue, Clifton.  He had been the superintendent at St. Nicholas Cemetery, Lodi.  Previously, he was a pipe fitter and member of Pipe Fitters Local 274, Ridgefield, for 45 years.  He was a parishioner of St. Paul R.C. Church, Clifton, and a former parishioner of St. Nicholas R.C. Church, Passaic.  He was a life member, past grand knight, past financial secretary, and former district deputy for Knights of Columbus Council 262, Passaic.  He was a fourth-degree Knight of Monsignor Stein Assembly, Paterson.  Arrangements: Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, Van Houten Avenue, Clifton.

 

Claire Peters:  The Nutley Sun (NJ), Thursday, 25 October 2001:  A Mass for Claire H. Plaia, 73, of Cedar Grove was offered Tuesday in St. Paul's Church, Clifton, after the funeral from Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, Clifton.  Mrs. Plaia died Oct. 20 in St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center, Paterson.  She was an office clerk with United Food and Commercial Workers Union Local 1262, Bloomfield, before retiring.  She was also a part-time clerk at the Grand Union and A&P supermarkets in Clifton.  Mrs. Plaia was a cryptographer in the Army during World War II.  Born in Chelsea, Mass., she lived in Nutley and Montclair before moving to Cedar Grove.  Surviving are two brothers, Alvin Peters and E. Benjamin Peters, and a sister, Mildred Balas.

- Misc.:  The Herald News (Passaic, NJ), Thursday, 7 July 1955:  WAC Cpl. Claire H. Peters, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Peters, 66 Hamilton Avenue, Passaic, is a member of the 7811th Army Unit if Frankfurt, Germany.  Cpl. Peters, a graduate of Pope Pius XII High School, completed basic training at Fort Lee, Va., and arrived in Germany last April.  She served in Paris from 1951 to July 1953.

 

Carl Edward PetersThe Record (Hackensack, NJ), Friday, 8 October 1999:  Carl Edward Peters, 68, of Clifton, died Wednesday.  Before retiring in 1987, he was a sexton at St. Nicholas R.C.
