Obituary:  Detroit Free Press (Detroit, MI), Friday, 25 September 1903:  Peters - At his father's residence, 547 Clinton avenue, Louis C., beloved husband of Emily Struband Peters, and son of Louis M. Peters, aged 26 years.  Funeral Friday, 2 p.m. from residence.  Burial private.

Obituary:  Detroit Free Press (Detroit, MI), Tuesday, 26 March 1907:  Peters - At her home, 283 Jos. Campau avenue.  Emily Strenbank Peters, widow of the late Louis Peters, and beloved daughter of Minnie Strenbank.  Funeral Wednesday at 2 p.m. from residence.

 

* Philomene Peters is not mentioned in either of her parent's obituaries.  There is a Philomene Peters, age 8, who is listed as an adopted daughter in the 1910 Detroit census, with Charles H. Walter 34 brass finisher, wife Diana 32 & their 2 children.  She is listed in the 1920 Detroit census with the same family (Philomene Peters 18 embosser/book bindery) but now listed as a lodger.  A marriage in Detroit occurs 25 November 1922 between Philomene Peters 21 (Frank/Emilie Strubank) & Orrin Van Syckel 27 (Bert/Margaret Cadwalder).  Philomene died 9 December 1969 East Grand Rapids, Kent, MI.  There is no mention in her obituary of her parents.
