Obituary:  The Courier (Houma, LA), Friday, 3 February 1989:  Lawrence Albert "Pete" Pitre, 83, a native and resident of Thibodaux, died at 6:40 a.m. Thursday.  Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at the Thibodaux Funeral Home.  A Mass of Christian burial will be said at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Joseph Co-Cathedral in Thibodaux.  Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery.  He is survived by his wife, Vivian P. Pitre; a son, Carol Pitre; a daughter, Lovella Landry; a sister, Velma Chol; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Ignace and Lenora Roussell Pitre; three brothers, Wallace, Clarence and Nolan Pitre; and three sisters, Doris Candies, Eugenie Lee and Elodie Adams.  Thibodaux Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Obituary:  Lafourche Daily Comet (LA), 16 March 2006:  Vivian Poche Pitre, 94, a native and resident of Thibodaux, died at 12:02 a.m. March 15, 2006.  Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Co-cathedral in Thibodaux.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial at St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux.  She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Carol N. Pitre and Jeanette Robichaux; daughter Louella P. LeBlanc; grandchildren Mindy L. Percle, Karen P. Guillot, Todd Pitre and Mark Pitre; great-grandchildren Crystal Percle, Devin Landry, Dylan Landry and Justin Pitre; great-great-grandchildren Hannah Hebert and Mallari Guillot.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence A. Pitre; parents Nicolas and Alice Bourgeois Poche, grandson Daryll Joseph Landry; brothers Ned Poche Sr. and Raymond Poche Sr.; and sisters Edna B. Zeringue and Velma B. Hebert.  Thibodaux Funeral Home of Thibodaux is in charge of arrangements.
