Obituary  The Daily Advertiser (Lafayette, LA), Friday, 20 June 1975:  Jennings - Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church for J. W. (Bud) Pitre, 59, who died at 11:45 a.m. Thursday at his home.  Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery.  Mr. Pitre was a native of Jennings and a veteran of World War II.  He was a member of the American Legion Post 19.  He was sworn in as deputy clerk of court to his brother in 1941 in Jennings, and became clerk in 1961, serving in that capacity until his death.  Survivors include his widow, Stella Soulier; one son, J. W. (Buddy) Pitre Jr., of Jennings; and three sisters, Mrs. Raymond Nelson of Sulphur, Mrs. Ivan Patterson of Jennings, and Mrs. George Conner of Houston, Tex.  Migues Funeral Home of Jennings is in charge of arrangements.

Obituary:  The Daily Advertiser (Lafayette, LA), Friday, 3 January 1992:  Jennings - Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady Help of Christian Catholic Church for Mrs. Stella Soulier Pitre, 72, who died 10:35 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, 1992 in Jennings American Legion Hospital.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Monsignor Vincent A. Sedita, Monsignor Ronald Groth and the Rev. Marshall Boulet, will officiate.  Survivors include one son, J. W. Pitre Jr. of Santa Monica, Calif.; aunt, Mrs. Ben (Clare) Thibodeaux of Opelousas; and nieces and nephews.  She was a native of Lafayette and resident of Jennings for 46 years.  She was a graduate of Southwest Louisiana Institute.  She taught school in Lafayette Parish and in Covington.  She was a member of the Ladies Altar Society.  A rosary will be recited by the Ladies Altar Society at 5 p.m. today and a Scriptural wake service will be held at 6 p.m.  Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. Saturday to service time.  Memorials may be made to Our Lady Help of Christian Catholic Church.  Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings is in charge of arrangements.
