Obituary: Springfield Republican (MA), Thursday, 15 August 1946 - John S. Peters of 22 Main street died yesterday at Mercy hospital. Born in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, 63 years ago, he came to this country 20 years ago. He was a member of the Widow and Widowers club and the Painters union, local 237. He leaves two daughters, Mary Peters at home and Mrs. Irene Gelinas of this city; a brother, Henry of Mexico, Me; and three sisters, Josephine Peters of this city, Mrs. Esther Locke of Amherst, Nova Scotia, and Mrs. Charlotte Hennessey of Charlottetown. The funeral will be held at the George St. Pierre funeral home Saturday, followed by requiem high mass at St. Joseph's church. Burial will be in St. Michael's cemetery.

A native of Manchester, N.H., she leaves two sisters, Mrs. Irene Gelinas and Mary Peters, both of Springfield, and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Tuesday at St. Pierre & Son Chapin Terrace funeral home, Springfield, and in St. Joseph's Church. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery.
Mary Irene Peters: The Republican (Springfield, MA), Saturday, 4 December 1993: Springfield - Irene (Peters) Gelinas, 74, of 414 Chestnut St. died on Thursday at home. She was born in Manchester, N.H., and lived here for 67 years. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. Her husband, Charles A. Gelinas, died in 1982. Mrs. Gelinas leaves a son, Donald A. of Palmer; three daughters, Elaine F. Dionne of Three Rivers, Palmer, Alice I. Moriarty of Huntsville, Ala., and Mary Anne Winiarski of Plainfield, Conn.; a sister, Mary R. Peters of Springfield; eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. The funeral will be on Monday morning at Hafey East Longmeadow Chapels and the church, with burial in St. Michael's Cemetery. Calling hours are on Sunday afternoon and evening, and memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Framingham.
Mary Ruth Peters: The Republican (Springfield, MA), Thursday, 15 January 2009: Mary R. Peters, 1920 - 2009, Palmer - Mary R. Peters passed away on Jan. 6, 2009. She was born in Manchester, N.H. to the late John and Angeline Peters. Mary lived most of her life in Springfield. She graduated from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in 1944 and was one of the first women to graduate as a Registered Nurse Anesthetist from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. She worked at Mercy Hospital and also for an Oral Surgeon. Mary retired from the former Ludlow Hospital after a number of years. Mary was a member of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetist, Mercy Hospital Alumni and the former St. Joseph Church. She leaves her nieces, Elaine Dionne of Brooksville, FL, Alice Moriarty of TN and Mary Winiarski of CT, a nephew Donald Gelinas of Palmer and her great-nieces and nephews. Mary was a loving aunt, caring nurse and friend to many who will miss her. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be in Holy Name Church on Sat., Jan. 17, 2009 at 11:00a.m. There are calling hours prior to the Mass in the Hafey Funeral Home, Springfield from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery.
