Obituary:  The Times Transcript (Moncton, NB), Friday, 29 November 1985:  Bathurst - Rudolph J. Pitre, 70, of 225 Millhaven St., Bathurst, died Wednesday at Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a lengthy illness.  Born in Bathurst, he was a son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Godin) Pitre.  He had been employed with Consolidated Bathurst for 48 years on retirement and was a member of the company's quarter-century club.  He is survived by his wife, the former Gladys Landry; three sons, Leonard of Saint John, Robert of Ottawa and Maurice of Victoria, B.C.; six daughters, Mrs. Geraldine Doucet of Saint John, Mrs. Alphonse Gagnon (Anita) and Mrs. Roger LeBlanc (Gabrielle), both of Moncton, Mrs. Leonard Martel (Yvonne), Mrs. Eldon Aubie (Suzanne) and Rose-Marie Hachey, all of Bathurst; a brother, Clarence of Bathurst; two sisters, Mrs. Aloysius Lavigne (Mayda) of Bathurst and Mrs. Joseph Aubie (Gertrude) of Montreal; 26 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.  The body is at Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst.  Funeral mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church, Bathurst.  Burial will be in the parish cemetery in the spring.

Leonard Joseph Thomas Pitre:  Telegraph Journal (St. John, NB), Wednesday, 23 November 2016:  Leonard Joseph Thomas Pitre 1938-2016: (photo) It is with heavy hearts that the family of Leonard J. T. Pitre, devoted husband of 58 years to Bernise M. (Allain) Pitre, announces his passing, which occurred on Monday, November 21, 2016 at Rocmaura Nursing Home.  Born in East Bathurst, NB on November 26, 1938, he was the eldest son of the late Rudolph and Gladys (Landry) Pitre.  Leonard worked as a carpenter and doing maintenance for Rothesay Paper (Irving Paper Mill) for over 35 years.  Leonard was very handy, and was known for building lawn furniture, which he sold out of his front yard.  He also enjoyed hunting and listening to country music.  In addition to his loving wife, Bernise, Leonard will be missed by his children, Reggie Pitre (Tina), Irene Michaelsen (Donnie), Denise Williams (Michael), Rene Pitre (Paula McKay) and Giselle Lively (Terry); his siblings, Geraldine Duguay (Donat), Anita Gagnon (the late Alphonse), Yvonne Martel (Leonard), Susan Aubie (the late Eldon), Robert Pitre (Shirley), Gabrielle LeBlanc (Roger), Joe Pitre (Kathy) and Rose-Marie Pitre; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews and extended family.  He was predeceased by two brothers-in-law and his grandson, Daniel.  Resting at Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, Saint John, NB with visiting on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 from 6-8 pm and Thursday, November 24, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm.  The Knights of Columbus will have a tribute service on Thursday at 6 pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Matthew’s Church, Grand Bay-Westfield, NB on Friday, November 25, 2016 at 10 am.  In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the ALS Society, Alzheimer Society or Rocmaura Foundation.  Interment will take place at St. Augustine’s Cemetery.

Gabrielle Pitre:  Gabrielle Leblanc 1946 – 2022:  Gabrielle LeBlanc, 75, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at the Villa du Repos, Moncton.  She used to live in Scoudouc.  Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Rudolphe and Gladys (Landry) Pitre.  After raising her children, Gabrielle had worked at various daycares, then she had become the guardian of the children of the Gautreau family until her retirement.  A good cook, she was known for her desserts, especially her delicious strawberry pies.  She loved her family, her friends, Christmas, singing, dancing, playing bingo, reading, shopping, craft projects, sewing and doing puzzles.  She is survived by three children: Pierre Philippe LeBlanc, Mireille LeBlanc (Jules Comeau), and Mathieu LeBlanc (Colette); two grandchildren: Alex and Chloé; four sisters: Géraldine, Anita, Yvonne, and Suzanne; one brother, Robert; as well as her nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband, Roger Paul (2020); an infant daughter, Madeleine; one sister, Rose-Marie; two brothers: Léonard and Jean-Maurice.  The family would like to sincerely thank the dedicated staff at Villa du Repos for their excellent care and compassion.  The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton where the funeral will be celebrated on Friday, May 13 at 7 p.m.  Visiting hours are Friday from 6 p.m. until time of funeral.  Face covering is recommended.  Burial will be in the Saint-Jacques-le-Majeur cemetery in Scoudouc.  In memory of Gabrielle, a contribution to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.

 

Joseph Maurice Pitre:  Times Colonist (Victoria, BC), Tuesday, 19 April 2022:  Pitre, Joseph Maurice, February 27, 1950 - March 16, 2022, Joe passed away peacefully after 5 years of going through cancer treatments.  Joe's final day was doing what he loved to do, which was bowling.  Joe, when well, loved to golf at Metchosin Golf Course for many years.  Joe is fondly remembered by his wife Kathy Pitre; his siblings Geraldine Duguay, Anita Gagnon, Yvonne Martel, Suzanne Aube, Gabriel (Roger) Leblanc, Robert (Shirley) Pitre; his sister-in-law Bernice; his mother-in-law Dorothy Stewart; his brothers-in-law Dave Stewart (Elle), Ron Stewart (Peggy) and Ed Stewart (Donell) as well as many nieces and nephews.  He is predeceased by his parents Rudolph and Gladys Pitre; brother Leonard; brothers-in-law Leonard Martel, Donot Duguay; Alphonse Gagnon, Elton Aube and Blair Stewart.  He will be greatly missed by all.  Joe will be laid to rest in Edmonton.

Suzanne 'Rose Marie' PitreThe Northern Light (Bathurst, NB), Tuesday, 12 November 2019:  (photo)  Hachey, Suzanne "Rose Marie", 1955 - 2019 - Suzanne "Rose Marie" Hachey of Riverside Dr., Bathurst, passed away Monday, November 4th, 2019 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst at the age of 63.  Born in Bathurst she was the daughter of the late Rudolph and Gladys (Landry) Pitre.  She is survived by her siblings: Geraldine Duguay (Donat) and Yvonne Martel both of Saint John, Anita Gagnon and Gabrielle LeBlanc (Roger) both of Moncton, Suzanne Aube of Bathurst, Robert Pitre (Shirley) of Ottawa, and Jean-Maurice (Kathy) of Vancouver.  One sister-in-law, Bernise Pitre of Saint John.  Several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a brother, Leonard.  Funeral service was held Thursday, November 7th, 2019 from The Point Church, Bathurst.  Donations in memory of Suzanne may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.  Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton Funeral Home, Bathurst.
