Obituary: Charlottetown Guardian (PEI), Tuesday, 18 July 1944: The death occurred yesterday afternoon in her apartment in the Tweel building, Great Gorge Street, City, of Mrs. Madeline Peters. The late Mrs. Peters had been in ill health for some time and it is believed she succumbed to a heart attack. The body was found at 7 o'clock last evening and apparently she had been dead a few hours. Coroner Dr. J. D. MacGuigan decided an inquest was not necessary. She is survived by three sons: James, in the Navy; Vincent, in the Army, at Petawawa; and Leo in No. 62, C. A. (B) T. C., Charlottetown; also one daughter, Mary (Mrs. John Gallant) of St. John, N.B. There are two brothers, Augustus Peters of Cape Traverse and James Peters of Charlottetown. Two sisters, Rose (Mrs. Luke Gallant) and Louise (Mrs. Robert Doucette) live in Rustico. Her husband, the late Joseph Peters, predeceased her on January 18th, 1939.
- Charlottetown Guardian (PEI), Saturday, 22 July 1944: The funeral of Mrs. Madeline Peters was held yesterday morning from the residence of her son, Leo Peters, 38 1-2 Elm Ave., to St. Dunstan's Basilica, where Requiem High Mass was celebrated by Rev. J. W. McCardle. The pall-bearers were: Earl Ford, Geo. Gregory, Edward Gallant, Gordon Gray, Albert Smith and John Williams. Service at the grave was conducted by Father McDonald.

Mary Florence Peters: Misc.: Charlottetown Guardian (PEI), Saturday, 27 February 1926: Gallant-Peters: A very quiet but pretty wedding took place on the morning of Tuesday, Feb. 16th, 1926, when Miss Mary Florence Peters, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Peters of this city was united in the holy bonds of matrimony with John J. Gallant also of this city, the ceremony being performed by the Rev. Father Sinnot. The bride was attended by Miss Mary Blaquiere of North Rustico, while the groom was ably supported by James A. E. Peters, brother of the bride. The bride was beautifully gowned in blue Canton crepe with henna and gold trimmings and wore a hat to match. The bridesmaid was prettily attired in brown satin with fur trimmings. After the ceremony was over a wedding breakfast was served at the home of the bride. Along with silver, cut glass and other valuable gifts was a considerable amount of money including a cheque from the bride's father. Mr. and Mrs. Gallant left on the morning train on a short wedding trip to Moncton and other Maritime cities.
- Obituary: Saint John Times Globe (St. John, NB), Tuesday, 3 May 1977: The death of Mrs. Mary F. Gallant, 309 Turnbull Place, occurred unexpectedly at St. Joseph's Hospital Sunday. Mrs. Gallant was born at Hope River, P.E.I., a daughter of the late Joseph and Madeline (Peters) Peters. She had resided in Saint John since 1940. She was a member of the CWL of St. Peter's Parish and St. Elizabeth's Society. She is survived by her husband, John J. Gallant; six daughters, Madeline, Mrs. John McNamara, Saint John; Clare, Mrs. Leo Gormley, Saint John; Dorothy, Mrs. Frank Connor, Saint John; Pearl, Mrs. Patrick McMurray, Riverview; Marjorie, Mrs. Gordon Wilson, Riverview; Jacqueline, Mrs. Norman Bordage, London, Ont.; one brother, Leo Peters of Charlottetown, P.E.I.; 16 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. The body is resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral, from where the funeral will be held Wednesday at 8:40 a.m., to St. Peter's Church for funeral mass at 9 o'clock. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Visiting from 2 to 4 p.m., and 7 to 9 p.m.
