Obituary: Saint John Times Globe (St. John, NB), Thursday, 1 June 1967: The death of Joseph F. Peters of 43 Charles Street occurred unexpectedly at the Saint John General Hospital early Wednesday evening. Born at Rogersville, Northumberland County, he was the son of the late Francis and Mary Anne Peters. He resided in Saint John for the past 40 years, and was employed for the greater part of his life at the Saint John Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Co. Ltd. He is survived by his wife, the former Helen Gaudet, and by two sons, Francis and Charles, both of Saint John. The body is resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, from where the funeral will be held Saturday morning at 8:45 o'clock to the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception for High Mass of requiem at 9 o'clock. Resting at Fitzpatricks Funeral Home, from where service will be held Monday morning at 10:45 to the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, for high mass of requiem at 11 o'clock. Frank will be forever missed by his one and only daughter Heather Peters and his precious grandchildren Francesca and Anthony. Frank was a much sought godfather and leaves behind a great number of loving godchildren, In-laws and many nieces and nephews. Frank was a devoted Catholic enjoying a rich and meaningful religious life. Born in Saint John, February 24, 1945. Frank was the son of the late Joseph and Helen (Gaudet) Peters. Frank was a Boilermaker and Welder by trade for several years until his retirement. He is survived by his brother Charles of Aurora, ON. Frank was predeceased by his wife Dorothy (Logan) Peters. Resting at Kennebecasis Funeral Home, Quispamsis with visiting on Thursday, August 25 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Quispamsis, on Friday, August 26, 2016 at 10AM. Interment to take place at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery, Salisbury, NB. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society, or to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
