Peters, 96, passed away Monday, November 8, 2021, at The Pines at Bristol. He was the beloved husband of the late Frances “Jeanne” (Haywood) Peters. Mr. Peters was born in Andover, MA, on September 21, 1925, son of the late Joseph and Mary (Ellis) Peters. He was the oldest boy of eight children. He was a WWII U.S. Navy Veteran and a Korean Conflict Army Veteran. Survivors include three daughters, Maryann Lyles of Torrington, Elizabeth Franklin and her husband, Jeffrey, of Plainville, and Penny Fisher and her husband, Walter, of Burlington; a sister, Carol Ann Davis of Arizona; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Peters was predeceased by a son, Clifford V. Peters and his wife, Linda, and a daughter, Janet L. Couch and her husband, Douglas. Graveside services with full Military Honors will be held Thursday, November 18, 2021 at 1:00p.m. at the Connecticut State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown. John Joseph Peters: John J. “Joe” Peters, 93, a longtime resident of Methuen, formerly of Lawrence, passed away at home on October 11, 2020 surrounded by his devoted family. Joe was born on July 17, 1927 to his hardworking parents, the late Joseph and Mary (Ellis) Peters in Lawrence and was raised and educated in Andover, MA. A decorated career veteran whose service spanned WWII, Korea and Vietnam Wars, he retired honorably from the US Navy. After spending 20 years in the military service, Joe began his second career as the boiler supervisor at the Lawrence General Hospital. The patriarch of his family, he was a proud and cherished husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Joe was a lifelong devout Catholic and was a communicant of St Lucy’s Church in Methuen. He met his sweetheart, Carmelina, on New Year’s Eve 1954 and they were married on June 16, 1956 at the Holy Rosary Church in Lawrence. Joe was a member of the BPOE Lodge # 65 in Lawrence and also volunteered countless hours at Turn Hall in Lawrence as well. He enjoyed doing the daily crossword puzzle, watching westerns and candle pin bowling and watching his beloved Boston Red Sox. Joe touched many lives in many different circles and will be fondly remembered, cherished and loved. Joe is survived by his devoted daughter Marie E. Meckl and her husband Peter of Lafayette, IN. He was the proud grandfather to Timothy Peters, Kris Ryan Peters, Paul Meckl and his wife Kate, Kristina Meckl and Kayla Meckl. Joe was also a great-grandfather to his three great-grandchildren. He was the beloved brother to Clifford Peters, and Carol Davis and the cherished father-in-law to Gail Peters. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Carmelina M. (Marconi) Peters in 2008 and his son, John J Peters II, who passed in 1987. He was also predeceased by his siblings, Phillip Peters, William Peters, Doris Roy, Pauline Levesque, and Phyllis Baker.

William Lawrence Peters: New Hampshire Union Leader (Manchester, NH), Friday, 5 March 2010: Londonderry - William L. Peters, 77, died March 3, 2010, in St. Joseph Hospital, Nashua. He was born in Andover, Mass., Sept. 9, 1932, to Joseph and Mary (Ellis) Peters. He grew up in Andover and for a while lived in Long Island, N.Y., where he worked as a foreman for A and S Welding. It was there he also pursued his passion of racing cars, racing in Islip and on many other tracks in the area. He held his private pilots license and flew small airplanes. He enjoyed woodworking, surfing the Web and seeking out new Chinese restaurants. He greatly enjoyed traveling and he worked for Merchants Auto Group for more than 10 years transporting cars across the country. He is survived by his daughter, Karen Palmeri, and her husband, Tom, of Brookline; two grandsons, Alex and Jason Palmeri, both of Brookline; three brothers, Joseph Peters of Methuen, Mass., Clifford Peters of Torrington, Conn. and Philip Peters of Willow Springs, N.C; three sisters, Pauline Levesque of Londonderry, Carol Davis of Pueblo, Colo. and Phyllis Baker of Florida. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Jean (Aprea) Peters, in 1983, his son, Douglas Peters, in 2005 and his sister, Doris. Following cremation, visiting hours will be Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. in Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Londonderry, with a funeral service to be held at 3 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, Framingham, MA.
