Obituary:  Gleeson-Ryan Funeral HomeClifford G. Peters, September 21, 1925 ~ November 8, 2021 (age 96).  Torrington - Clifford G. Peters, 96, passed away Monday, November 8, 2021, at The Pines at Bristol.  He was the beloved husband of the late Frances “Jeanne” (Haywood) Peters.  Mr. Peters was born in Andover, MA, on September 21, 1925, son of the late Joseph and Mary (Ellis) Peters.  He was the oldest boy of eight children.  He was a WWII U.S. Navy Veteran and a Korean Conflict Army Veteran.  Survivors include three daughters, Maryann Lyles of Torrington, Elizabeth Franklin and her husband, Jeffrey, of Plainville, and Penny Fisher and her husband, Walter, of Burlington; a sister, Carol Ann Davis of Arizona; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.  Mr. Peters was predeceased by a son, Clifford V. Peters and his wife, Linda, and a daughter, Janet L. Couch and her husband, Douglas.  Graveside services with full Military Honors will be held Thursday, November 18, 2021 at 1:00p.m. at the Connecticut State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown.  Memorial contributions may be made to Wreaths Across America.

Obituary:  Florida Today (Cocoa, FL), Friday, 2 September 2005:  Frances Jeanne Peters died peacefully on Wednesday, 31 August, 2005, in Palm Bay, FL, where she has lived since 1997.  She moved here with her husband from Southington, CT where she was a long time resident.  Frances was born in Manhattan, NY on September 11, 1928 to Vincent and Frances Haywood.  Frances was the devoted wife of Clifford Peters for 57 years.  She was a proud mother of five children; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.  Frances is survived by one son, Clifford Vincent Peters of Melbourne, FL; daughters, Janet Couch of Thomaston, CT, Mary Ann Lyles of Southington, CT, Elizabeth Martin of Thomaston, CT and Penny Fisher of Torrington, CT; and a sister, Gladys Lemen of Stewart, NJ.  A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, September 6th, at 7 p.m., at Palm Bay Funeral Home, Palm Bay, FL.  In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society in her name.  Arrangements entrusted to Palm Bay Funeral Home.
