Obituary:  The Burlington Free Press (VT), Saturday, 4 March 1899:  Joseph Peters, aged 53 years, died at 9 o'clock Thursday evening at his home No. 77 Spring street of heart failure, after a lingering illness of about a year.  He leaves a wife, a son, Joseph, and a daughter Angeline.  Mr. Peters was in the hack business in this city for a number of years.  He died very suddenly as he had been feeling much improved for the past two weeks.  The funeral will be held at St. Joseph's church at 9 o'clock this morning.  The interment will be in Mount Calvary cemetery.

- Remarried to John Bissonette c1906.

- Rutland Daily Herald (VT), Thursday, 28 April 1910:  A serious accident occurred in Williston Sunday afternoon when a horse driven by John Bissonette of Burlington became frightened by a passing automobile and plunged down an embankment, overturning the carriage.  Mrs. Bissonette suffered from internal injuries, while Mr. Bissonette escaped with cuts and bruises about the face and arms.  The automobile, said to be No. 1485, Vt., proceeded on its way, the occupants being apparently indifferent to the accident.

- Obituary:  Burlington Daily News (VT), Wednesday, 25 February 1914:  Mrs. John Bissonette, a life long resident of this city died yesterday at her home on Spring street of hardening of the arteries, death following at illness of three years, the last four months being confined to the bed.  Mrs. Bissonette was 65 years of age and leaves besides her husband a daughter, Mrs. Stephen Forant and a son Joseph both of this city.  Four sisters and two brothers also survive.  The funeral will be held tomorrow morning at St. Joseph's church at 1 o'clock with interment in Mt. Calvary cemetery.

Obituaries for the children:

Joseph Peters:  The Burlington Free Press (VT), Thursday, 11 May 1944:  Joseph Peters, 76, died early yesterday morning at his home, 7 Bellevue st., Winooski, after a short illness.  He was born in Canada and came to the United States 25 years ago.  Surviving are his widow, Sarah Deyette Peters, and one son, Roy, of Burlington; one step-daughter, Mrs. Leo Fountain, and a sister, Mrs. Angeline Forant, both of Burlington; 18 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 9 in St. Stephen's church, Winooski, with interment in the family lot, St. Francis Xavier cemetery.  Arrangements are in charge of Lavigne's Funeral Chapel, 16 East Allen st., Winooski.

Angeline Peters:  The Burlington Free Press (VT), Monday, 29 May 1950:  Mrs. Angeline Forant, 73, of 95 North st., died in a local hospital early yesterday morning after a long illness.  She was the widow of Stephen Forant, late of Burlington.  Mrs. Forant was born in Burlington June 18, 1876, the daughter of Joseph and Minnie (Blair) Peters.  She is survived by one son, Lowell Forant, of Malletts Bay; five daughters, Mrs. R.J. Sliger of Atlanta, Ga., Mrs. Elwin Flood and Mrs. Beulah Tabor, of Burlington, and Mrs. Leo Rudnick and Mrs. Alfred Touchette, Jr., both of Malletts Bay; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  The body will remain at the A. Boucher and Son Funeral Home, 169 North st., until the funeral services which will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church.  Burial will take place in the family lot in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.  Rene G. Boucher in charge of arrangements.
