Walter Ernest Petrie: The Journal (Lorain, OH), Wednesday, 8 February 1978: Norwalk - Walter E. Petrie, 70, U.S. Navy World War II veteran, was found dead at his residence yesterday. Dr. E. R. McLoney, deputy coroner, ruled the death was due to natural causes. A native of Great Works, Maine, he was in Norwalk since 1951, residing at 110 Milan Ave. He was employed at Harris Products (now Gould, Inc.), retiring in 1972. There are no survivors. Friends may call Friday, 2 to 4 amd 7 to 9 p.m., at Kubach-Smith Funeral Home, where services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, the Rev. Richard Lawrence, associate pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, where the Joint Norwalk Veterans Council will hold memorial services and serve as pallbearers.
