Obituary:  The Charlottetown Guardian (Charlottetown, PEI), Wednesday, 22 April 1914:  The death of Mr. John Peters, one of the oldest citizens of Toronto, Lot 23, took place last Saturday evening.  The deceased had been ill for some time and suffered considerably during the first part of his illness.  Although he was not expected to live very much longer and although he himself was perfectly willing to die some time since, yet it was hoped that, with the coming of fine warm weather, his health might improve somewhat.  However this was not to be.  The end came just at the closing of the Holy season of Lent, and the hope is that already he may be commemorating in Heaven as those on earth, the resurrection of the Saviour of mankind.
