Obituary: Worcester Telegram (Worcester, MA), Friday, 25 November 1977: Clinton - Joseph Peete, 93, formerly of 1132 Main St., died yesterday in Clinton Hospital. He retired in 1958 after 33 years as a foreman for a Brattleboro, Vt., cotton mill. He was previously employed at the former Lancaster Mills here until 1925. He leaves several nephews and nieces. His wife, Mary A. (McGrail) Peete, died in 1968. He was born in Mooresfield, N.Y., son of Peter and Clara (Hops) Peete. The funeral will be held tomorrow from Philbin Funeral Home, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. John's Church. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Lancaster. Calling hours at the funeral home are 7 to 9 p.m. today.

(McGrail) Peete, 83, wife of Joseph Peete of 1132 Main St., died yesterday morning in Clinton Hospital after a long illness. She was born in County Mayo, Ireland, the daughter of Martin and Catherine McGrail, and lived here for many years. She previously made her home in Brattleboro, Vt., for 30 years. Besides her husband, she leaves several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held at 9:15 a.m. Saturday from Philbin Funeral Home, with a High Mass at 10 in St. John's Church. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Lancaster. Calling hours at the funeral home are 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow.

Virginia Mary Peet: The Brattleboro Reformer (Brattleboro, VT), Wednesday, 11 November 1964: Mrs. Freeman Sargent. South Newfane - Mrs. Virginia (Peet) Sargent, 47, wife of Freeman Sargent, died at her home here yesterday. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Ker Funeral Home, Brattleboro. Rev. John H. McCulley will officiate and burial will be in Williamsville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9. Born in Leominster, Mass., Jan. 5, 1917, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (McGrail) Peet, she spent her early life in Brattleboro. Her marriage to Mr. Sargent took place Nov. 4, 1947. Surviving besides her husband are her parents, now living in Leominster, and one son, Paul. Partially disabled since the age of 13, when she was stricken with polio, Mrs. Sargent had nonetheless carried on her household duties and for 11 years was a hostess summers to Fresh Air children.
