Obituary: The Saginaw News (Saginaw, MI), Tuesday, 7 May 1963: Peters, Philip L., 526 North Warren Avenue. Passed away late Monday evening at Saginaw General Hospital after a lengthy illness. Age 62 years. He was born July 11, 1900 in Ludington, and had been a resident of Saginaw the past 40 years. He was employed at the Chevrolet Service Parts Plant. Surviving are one daughter and one son, Mrs. Robert J. Trew and Laurel J. Peters, both of Saginaw; seven grandchildren; also one sister and three brothers, Mrs. William Miller, Ravena, Mich.; Roy Peters, Clinton, Mich.; Frank Peters, Ford Lake, Mich.; Lawrence Peters, Chicago, Ill. Funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Shea Funeral Home. Dr. Hugh Townley will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Widow of Robert James Trew passed away suddenly, Friday, November 28, 1991 at Saginaw General Hospital. Age 74 years Phyllis M. Peters was born November 12, 1917 in Munising, grew to early womanhood in Ludington and graduated from high school in the Ludington area. She was graduated in 1939 from St. Mary Hospital School of Nursing and had been employed there and later was employed by Saginaw General Hospital for over twenty years, retiring in 1979. She was a member of First Congregational Church and was a member of the Catherine Carver Circle. She was a member of Germania of Saginaw and was an avid bridge player and a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She married Mr. Trew January 13, 1939. He predeceased her August 23, 1978. Surviving are three daughters, three sons and their spouses, Susan Jean Rankin, Cascade, Mich.; Patricia Ann and Dr. Claude W. Eggertsen, Utica, Mich.; Dr. Robert J. and Diane Trew, Carey, NC; June and Edmund Moore, Las Vegas, Nev.; Michael J. and Debra Trew, Hemlock; Roger E. and Nancy M. Trew, Walker, Mich. A daughter, Janet Kay Lax predeceased her in 1984. Another daughter predeceased her in infancy. She also leaves 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several half-brothers, half-sisters and nieces and nephews. Her parents, Phillip Peters and Agnes Bennett and a brother, James Peters predeceased her. Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the First Congregational Church. Rev. John Illiff will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9 :00 p.m. on Sunday and on Monday and then at the church from 10:00 a.m. Tuesday until the time of service. Laurel Joseph Peters: The Ludington Daily News (MI), 16 September 1975: Laurel J. Peters, 55, of Main St., Fountain, died at 10:30 p.m. Monday at the Saginaw Veterans Hospital where he had been a patient for two weeks. He had been in failing health for the past three years. He was born Oct. 6, 1919 in Munising where he grew up and graduated from high school. He served 10 years in the U.S. Navy and then 10 years in the U.S. Army, retiring in 1968. He was married Dec. 4, 1971 in Fountain to Mrs. Mable Bauer Davison, who survives. Mr. Peters worked for a time for the Pere Marquette Fiberglass Boat Co. of Ludington. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are one sister, Mrs. Robert (Phylis) Trew of Sahinaw; his mother, Mrs. Philip (Agnes) Peters of Pontiac; several half-sisters and half-brothers; nieces and nephews. The funeral is tentatively scheduled at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Dorrell Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Fountain Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
