Obituary:  Boston Herald (Boston, MA), Thursday, 13 March 1980: John Peters, 68, Arlington - A funeral mass will be said tomorrow at 10 in St. Agnes Church, Arlington, for John M. Peters, 68, who died yesterday.  He was retired Chief of the Property Rehabilitation Branch of the General Service Administration, and has been chairman of the Arlington Board of Health since 1969.  He served in World War II as a lieutenant commander in the U.S. Navy.  Peters, a resident of Arlington for many years, graduated from Arlington High School in 1928.  He attended Chauncy Hall, Boston University School of Medicine, and was graduated from Tufts University.  He leaves his wife Eleanor (Hill), three children, John M. Jr., Lisa K. of Arlington, and Andrea P. Rush of Conn.; a sister Helen V. O'Rourke of Rockport, and a brother Col. F. I. Peters of Carlisle.

Obituary:  The Boston Globe (Boston, MA), Sunday, 1 March 2020:  Peters, Eleanor (photo) Age 104, of Arlington and Rockport, Eleanor (Hill) Peters died February 28 at Elizabeth Seaton Residence in Wellesley.  Born at home in Arlington on June 11, 1915 to John J. and Mary (Moylan) Hill, she was preceded in death by siblings David, Margaret, Edgar and John and by her husband Lt. Commander John Mortimor Peters.  She was a member of the Simmons College Class of 1933, a lifelong hospital volunteer, and an early advocate of hospice care.  She is survived by her son John M. Peters, Jr. of Belmont and two daughters, Andrea P. Rush of New Milford, CT and Lisa K. Peters of Arlington.  She also leaves two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  Services private.
