- Plattsburgh Daily Press, 20 August 1938:  Sergeant Anthony T. Sedlak, local Army Recruiting Officer at the post office building in this city announces the enlistment of Joseph Peterson of 9 Underwood Ave., Plattsburgh, and Hector L. Peterson of Higginum, Conn., on August 18th, for the Infantry branch of service in the Hawaiian Islands.  Both these young men are the sons of Mrs. Tina Peterson of 9 Underwood Ave., this city......

 

Obituary:  Union News (MA), Friday, 8 January 1965: Chicopee - Joseph Peterson, 55, of 17 Jackson St., Chicopee Falls, died Thursday in a local nursing home.  He was born in Danielson, Conn., son of the late Mitchell and Lottie (Holmes) Peterson and prior to moving to Chicopee Falls two years ago was a longtime resident of Holyoke.  A veteran of World War II, he was employed at the Lestoil Co., in Holyoke prior to his illness.  He leaves his wife, Mrs. Rena (Flynn) Francis Peterson; two brothers, Mitchell Pete of Willimansett and Leonard Pete of this city; two step-sons, George Francis of California and Oliver Francis of New York City; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Joseph Bordeau of Willimansett; his stepmother, Mrs. Tina Peterson of Holyoke; two half-brothers, Hector of Easthampton and Omer of Holyoke; two half-sisters, Miss Lizzie Chautrain and Mrs. Marjorie LaVantre, both of Holyoke, and several nieces and nephews.  The funeral will be held at the Arthur J. Brunelle funeral home, Willimansett, Saturday at 9:15, with a solemn requiem high mass in St. Patrick's Church, Chicopee Falls, at 10.  Burial will be in St. Rose Cemetery, Aldenville.  Calling hours at the funeral home are today from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10.

Obituary:  Transcript Telegram (Holyoke, MA), Thursday, 19 July 1990:  Chicopee - Rena (Flynn) Peterson, 87, formerly of Peloquin Drive, died Wednesday in a local nursing home.  She was the widow of Joseph Peterson, who died in 1965.  Her first husband, George A. Francis, died in 1936.  She was born in Underhill, Vt., on March 24, 1903, daughter of the late William and Lucy (Holmes) Flynn, and lived in Chicopee for the past 65 years.  She was employed for many years as a licensed practical nurse.  She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church.  She leaves one son, George A. Francis Jr. of Marino Valley, Calif.; and one daughter, Dorothy C. Bordeau of Chicopee.  She was predeceased by a son, Oliver J. Francis, who died in 1986, and a daughter, Marion R. Scribner, who died in 1964.  She leaves 23 grandchildren, 67 great-grandchildren, 43 great-great-grandchildren, and 25 great-great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  The funeral will be Saturday at 9:15 a.m. from the Arthur J. Brunelle Funeral Home, followed at 10 a.m. by a Mass of Christian burial in St. Mary's Church with burial in St. Rose Cemetery.  Calling hours are Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m.  Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's Church Renovation Fund, Chicopee.
