Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas), Tuesday, 24 June 1958:  Eunice - Last rites were conducted at 4 p.m. Monday for Joseph L. Pitre, 57 of Chataignier, who died Sunday at his home at 4 p.m.  Mr. Pitre, a farmer, had been ill for about 10 weeks.  Services were conducted from the French Baptist Church in Chataignier with burial in the cemetery there.  Ardoin's Funeral Home of Eunice was in charge of arrangements.  Survivors include his wife, the former Oline Bertrand; his mother, Mrs. Joseph Pitre of Eunice; three sons, Aubrey Pitre of Eunice; Joseph Pitre of Chataignier and Herbert Pitre of Morgan City; six daughters: Mrs. Cyprien Johnson of Eunice, Mrs. Ardres Veillon and Mrs. Roduig Fontenot both of Morgan City, Mrs. Joseph Johnson of Beaumont, Tex., Miss Nelwyn Pitre and Miss Deanna Faye Pitre both of Chataignier, three brothers: Curley Pitre of Prairie Ronde, Charles Pitre of Elton and Austin Pitre of Eunice; four sisters, Mrs. Eugene Huval, Mrs. Melvin Dupre, Mrs. Marshall Dupre and Mrs. Willie Rider all of Eunice and twenty-two grandchildren.

Obituary:  Basile Weekly, Thursday, 1 August 1991:  Funeral services were held at Quirk and Son Funeral Home at 3 p.m. Friday, July 26 for Mrs. Oline Bertrand Pitre, 84, with burial following in Chataignier Baptist Cemetery.  Mrs. Pitre, a resident of Eunice, died at 11:55 a.m., July 25, 1991 at her residence.  Survivors include three sons, Herbert Pitre of Bayou Chicot, Aubrey Pitre of Berwick and Joseph Pitre of Eunice; six daughters, Marice Johnson of Duralde, Eula Johnson, Loraina Veillon and Nelwyne Darbonne, all of Eunice, Audrey Ardoin of Jeanerette and Diana Bertrand of Basile; two sisters, Louanna Boudreaux of Eunice and Eva Elkin of Patterson; 33 grandchildren; 72 great-grandchildren and 25 great-great-grandchildren.  Quirk and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Marice Pitre:  Daily World (Opelousas), Sunday, 26 June 1994:  Eunice - Funeral services for Marice Pitre Johnson, 70, will be held on Monday at St. Anthony Catholic Church here with burial at the church cemetery.  The time of the service is pending.  Mrs. Johnson, a resident of Durald, died on Saturday, June 25, 1994, at 1:10 p.m. at Savoy Medical Center in Mamou.  Survivors include: her husband, Cyprien Johnson of Durald; six sons, Joseph D. Johnson, Jeffery Naquin, Malcolm Naquin and Marcell Johnson, all of Durald, John R. Johnson of Eunice and James J. Johnson of Powell, Wy.; three daughters, Mrs. Norris (Lou Anna) Arnaud of Mamou, Bertha Lynn Naquin of Durald, and Mrs. Joseph (Bertha) Janice Jr. of Eunice; three brothers, Aubrey Pitre of Baldwin, Joseph L. Pitre of Eunice and Herbert Pitre of Bayou Chicot; five sisters, Lorrain Veillon, Eula Mae Johnson and Nelwyne Darbonne, all of Eunice, and Audrey Ardoin of Jeanerette and Dianne Bertrand of Basile; 25 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.  Quirk & Son Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

 

Amy Lorraine Pitre:  Basile Weekly, Wednesday, 10 March 1999:  Funeral services were held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 3, 1999 for Amy Lorraine Veillon, 72, with burial following in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice.  She was preceded in death by her husband Ardus Veillon.  Survivors include four sons, Donald Veillon of Patterson; Jean Batiste Veillon of Groves, Texas, Michael Veillon of Eunice; and Billy Veillon of Spokane, Washington; two daughters, Glenda V. McAllister of Lafayette; and June Lisa Veillon of Eunice; three brothers, Herbert Pitre of Glenmora; Aubry Pitre of Basile; and Joseph Pitre of Eunice; four sisters, Audrey Ardoin of Jeanerette; Nelwyne (Nell) Darbonne of Eunice; Diana Bertrand of Basile; and Eula Mae Johnson of Mamou; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

 

Eula Mae Pitre:  Basile Weekly, Wednesday, 17 March 1999:  Funeral services were held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 13, 1999 for Mrs. Eula Mae Johnson, 69, with burial following in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.  Mrs. Johnson, a resident of Mamou, died at the Ville Platte Medical Center on Thursday, March 11, 1999 in the Ville Platte Medical Center.  She was preceded in death by her husband the late Joseph Johnson and a son, the late Ray Allen Johnson.  Survivors include one son, Wilbert Johnson of Orlando, Florida; two daughters, Angela Johnson of Mamou and Doris Menier of Eunice; three brothers, Herbert Pitre of Glenmora; Aubry Pitre of Basile; and Joseph Pitre of Eunice; three sisters, Audrey Ardoin of Jeanerette; Nelwyne "Nell" Darbonne of Eunice; and Diana Bertrand of Basile; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

 

Aubrey Lee Pitre:  Eunice News, 6 June 2016:  Aubrey Lee Pitre passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2016, at the age of 77.  Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Quirk & Son Funeral Home in Eunice.  Rev. Larry Sarris will officiate.  Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.  Aubrey is survived by one daughter, Rose Cutshaw and husband Stanley of TN; three sisters, Audrey Ardoin of Jeanerette, Nelwyne "Nell" Darbonne of Eunice, and Diana Bertrand of Basile; two brothers, Herbert Pitre of McNary and Joseph Lee Pitre of Eunice; three grandchildren, Chantelle Dunbar, Willie Cavalier, and Jimmy Cavalier; and one great-granddaughter, Tiffany Dunbar
Aubrey was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph L. Pitre and Carolina Bertrand Pitre and three sisters, Marice Johnson, Eula Mae Johnson, and Lorraine Veillon.  At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.  The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday for visitation until the time of service.  Quirk & Son Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
