Obituary:  Boston Globe (MA), Wednesday, 13 May 1987:  Peters - Of Reading, May 12, John.  Beloved husband of Marie Josephine (Gallant).  Father of George, Gerald, and Zella Longo, all of Wilmington, Reginald of Reading, Theresa Berard of CA, Marie Brown of Billerica, and Rose Brady of Methuen.  Brother of Fidele Peters of Canada.  Also survived by 33 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.  Funeral from the Joseph Doherty Funeral Home, 11 Linden Street, Reading, Thursday at 9 A.M.  Funeral Mass in St. Athanasius Church at 10:00.  Calling hours Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9.

Obituary:  Daily Times Chronicle (Reading, MA), 7 June 1998:  Josephine M. (Gallant) Peters of Reading, Massachusetts, died on June 1, 1998 in Medford, Mass.  Born on Prince Edward Island, she was the daughter of the late Prosper and Mary (Arsenault) Gallant.  She lived in Reading for 70 years.  The wife of the late John Peters, she was the mother of George and Gerald Peters, both of Wilmington, Mass., Reginald Peters of Reading, Zella Longo of Stoneham, Mass., Theresa Bernard of California, Marie Brown of Billerica, Mass., and Rose Brady of Methuen, Mass.; the sister of Theodore Gallant of Prince Edward Island; the grandmother of 33, the great-grandmother of 47, and the great-great-grandmother of one.  A funeral was held from the Joseph Doherty Funeral Home in Reading on June 5, 1998, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Athansius Church.  Interment was in Charles Lawn Cemetery in Reading.
