Obituary:  Morning Sentinel (Waterville, ME), Wednesday, 24 September 1986:  (photo) Lawrence H. Peters, 77, of 10 First Rangeway, died late Monday night at a local hospital shortly after being admitted.  He was born in Fairfield, Jan. 13, 1909, son of Gilbert and Mary (Couture) Peters.  A lifelong resident of Waterville, he was a 25-year employee of the Waterville Fire Department, retiring in 1969 as a lieutenant.  He had also been employed by Hollingsworth & Whitney Co., later Scott Paper Co.  A son, Lawrence Peters, was killed in action in Vietnam in 1966.  A great-grandson, Nicholas Veilleux, died previously.  He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Anna (Gurski) Peters of Waterville; two sons, Daniel Peters of Winslow and Gilbert Peters, Waterville; one daughter, Mrs. Louis (Emily) Maroon of Manasses, Va.; two sisters, Mrs. Carroll (Margaret) Emery of Fairfield and Mrs. Pelgia Freeman of Norwock, Calif.; one brother, Vincent C. Peters of Fairfield; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Veilleux Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Church.  Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery.

Obituary:  Morning Sentinel (Waterville, ME), Friday, 13 December 2002:  (photo) Waterville - Anna G. Peters, 90, of Waterville, died at her home Thursday morning, Dec. 12, 2002.  She was born in Portland, Feb. 20, 2012, daughter of Joseph and Emelia (Gintlo) Gurski.  She was married for 55 years to Lawrence H. Peters, who predeceased her in 1986.  She was a loving mother to her four children and a wonderful and playful Grammy to 17 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.  Before her retirement, she had been employed at the former Keyes Fibre Co. of Waterville for many years.  She is survived by two children, Emily Maroon (Arthur) Sinclair of Virginia, and Daniel (Anne) Peters of Winslow; a sister, Stella Shuman of Massachusetts; 17 grandchildren, Damon, Aaron and Sabrina Peters, Samuel Maroon, Shelley (Maroon) Kaslowski, Laura (Maroon) Watts, Lou Ann (Maroon) Menard, Richard Peters, Debra (Peters) Veilleux, Mary (Peters) Boan, David Peters, Teresa (Peters) Barton, Edward Peters, Sue Peters, Tom Peters, Michael Peters, Nancy (Peters) Cabaup; 24 great-grandchildren; two daughters-in-law, Ann (Gil) Peters and Bernadette (Lawrence) Peters, and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband, two sons, Lawrence and Gilbert Peters; a great-grandson, Nicholas Veilleux; her parents, brothers, Edward, Joe and Adam, and sisters, Wilhamina and Laura.  Family and friends may visit from 2-4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, at Veilleux Funeral Home, Waterville.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at Sacred Heart Church, Waterville.
