Obituary:  Saint John Times Globe (St. John, NB), Tuesday, 23 March 1976:  Dalhousie - Police have released the name of a woman who was shot to death here early Sunday morning.  She is Mrs. John Pitre, of Victoria Street, Dalhousie.  David Joseph Harquail, 18, was arraigned in court Monday afternoon in connection with the incident.  He was charged with criminal negligence causing death, and remanded until March 29, without plea.  Au autopsy was performed Monday at the Provincial Hospital in Dalhousie but the results have not been announced.  Mrs. Pitre was the former Exilda Boucher of Rough Waters, Gloucester County.  She is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Everett Gallon of Dalhousie, Mrs. Maurice Allain of Petewawa, Ont., Mrs. Harry Leuthel of King City, Ont., Mrs. Edward Landry of Detroit, Mich., Mrs. Roland Ouelette of Rimouski, Que., Mrs. Albert Marcoux of Chateauguay, Que.; seven sons, Robert, of Waterloo, Ont., Gerry, of Montreal; John Jr., of Bathurst, Reno, of Saint John, Gerald, of Toronto, Claude of Toronto, Roger of Dalhousie; three sisters, Mrs. Irene Doucet, of Bathurst, Mrs. Dora Arsenault of Bathurst, and Mrs. Cily Garvie of Toronto.  The body is resting at Maher's Funeral Home in Dalhousie.  The funeral will be held on Wednesday at 4 p.m. at St. John Bosco, Church, Dalhousie.

Joseph Albert 'Robert' Pitre:  The Times Transcript (Moncton, NB), Wednesday, 26 May 1999:  Robert (Bert) Pitre, of Kent Lodge Road, Beresford, NB, husband of Martha (Bryar) Pitre, passed away on Monday, May 24, 1999, at the Regional Hospital Center of Bathurst after a brief illness.  Born in Beresford, on July 11, 1928, he was the son of the late John and Exilda Pitre of Dalhousie.  He was a member of the Kitchener Waterloo Navy Association and Canadian Legion where he resided for the past 25 years until he moved back to Beresford in April 1998.  He was an automobile sales representative for the last 41 years.  He served his country with the Merchant Marine from 1945 to 1951 and the Army 1951 to 1957.  In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter Mary Ann (Robert Roy); also his children from a former marriage, Monique (Scott Hunter), Denise Davis, Ann Vanags, and Rob Pitre.  He also has ten grandchildren.  Six brothers and six sisters also survive him, Gerry (Shirley), Claude (Marilyn), Reno (Susan), John (Lise), Gerald (Gail), Roger (Monique), Anita Allain, Drew (Everett Gallen), Jean (Harry Leuthel), Yolande (Ed Landry), Irene (Roland Ouellette), Annette (Albert Marcoux) and many nieces and nephews.  His body will be resting at the Heritage Funeral Home in Beresford from Wednesday, May 26, 7pm with the funeral mass on Friday, May 28, 4pm at Saint Nom de Jesus Church of Beresford, with interment in the parish cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Lung Association or Arthritis Association would be appreciated.

 

Gerard Joseph Pitre:  The Gazette (Montreal, QUE), Wednesday, 24 December 2008:  Pitre, Jerry.  Passed away peacefully, after a courageous battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis, with his loving family at his side at the Cornwall Community Hospital, McConnell Site, Palliative Care Unit.  Gerard (Jerry) Joseph Pitre of Creg Quay, Bainsville, ON; formerly of Montreal; age seventy-nine years.  Beloved husband of Shirley Pitre (nee Williams) and loving stepfather of Bob and Catherine Jordan and Karen Sheikh (Eric).  Much loved "Poppie" of Corey and Jenna Sheikh and companion of his beloved cat, Bailey.  Brother of Drusilla, Anita, Jeannine, Yolande, Annette, Irene, John, Reno, Claude, Gerald and Roger.  Predeceased by his parents, John Pitre and Exilda Boucher and his brother, Robert.  Jerry will be missed by his circle of friends at Creg Quay where he and Shirley resided.  A celebration of Jerry's life will be held at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, Lancaster, ON, on Saturday, December 27, 2008 at 11 a.m.  A reception will follow in the Church Hall.  For those who wish, Memorial Donations made to St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church or charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.  As a memorial to Jerry, a tree will be planted in Memory Woods.  A tree grows - memories live.  Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., Lancaster, ON.

 

Joseph Reneault 'Reno' Pitre:  Telegraph Journal (St. John, NB), Monday, 7 October 2013:  Pitre, Joseph Reneault 'Reno', March 4, 1941 - October 7, 2012, photo of the Guitar Casket with the builders, 4 of the brothers: John, Claude, Gerald & Roger:  Joseph Reneault 'Reno' Pitre, loving husband of Susan (Naves) (Steele) Pitre, passed away peacefully with family at his side on Sunday, October 7, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.  Born in Dalhousie, NB he was the son of the late Jon and Exilda (Boucher) Pitre.  In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his sister Durella Gallon and brothers Gerry and Robert.  Reno worked as a Pipefitter for Irving Paper, Bayside Drive, for 44 years.  Besides his loving wife Susan he is survived by his sisters: Anita, Jean, Annette, Yoland and Irene.  Sadly missed always remembered on the first anniversary by wife Susan.

 

Irene Pitre:  Bas-St-Laurent Funeral Co-op (QUE), 13 November 2021:  Pitre, Irène, Date of birth: March 31, 1948 Date of death: November 11, 2021 Date of the celebration: November 27, 2021.  Age: 73 years and 6 months.  At the Rimouski Regional Hospital on November 11, 2021, Mrs. Irène Pitre, residing in Rimouski, wife of Mr. Roland Ouellet, daughter of the late Mr. John Pitre and the late Mrs. Exilda Boucher, passed away at the age of 73 years and 7 months.  The family will receive condolences on Saturday, November 27 from 1 PM to 3 PM at the Bas-Saint-Laurent Funeral Co-op, Élisabeth-Turgeon mausoleum site, in Rimouski.  A memorial celebration to mark the departure of Mrs. Pitre will be held on Saturday, November 27 at 3 PM, at the chapel of the Élisabeth-Turgeon mausoleum and from there to the Saint-Germain mausoleum in Rimouski.  Wearing a mask will be mandatory, with a rotation of 50 people in the lounge and a limit of 75 people in the chapel.  She is survived by her husband Roland, her daughters Manon (Claude Caron) and Cathy (Mario Lavoie), her grandchildren: Anne-Julie, Pascale, Joshua, and Maxim, her brothers and sisters, her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law from the Pitre and Ouellet families, her nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.  Your expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society.  Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your presence and support.  A special thanks goes to the staff of Rimouski Hospital for the excellent care provided.  Roland, Manon, and Cathy.  Bas-St-Laurent Funeral Cooperative, QC.
