Viola Marie Pitre:  Lafourche Daily Comet (LA):  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano for Viola "Bala" Pierce, 87, a native and resident of Cut Off, who died at 1:30 a.m. April 11, 1999.  Visitation will be noon until funeral time at the church.  Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Cut Off.  She was the mother of Sherlene P. Guidry; and sister of Allen Pitre and Florida Hebert.  She is also survived by one grandchild.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Alex Pierce; parents, John and Alzire Autin Pitre; brother, Burke Pitre; and sisters, Birdie Hebert and Bella Lerille.  She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church.  She was a member of the St. Joseph's Ladies Altar Society and a volunteer at the Catholic Community Center.  Samart Funeral Home of Cut Off is in charge of arrangements.

 

Bella Pitre:  Lafourche Daily Comet (LA):  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. today at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off for Bella Pitre Lerille, 82, a native and resident of Galliano, who died at 7:45 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10 (1995).  Burial will be in Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano.  She was the mother of John, Rodney and William Lerille and Lois L. Gautreaux; sister of Allen Pitre, Viola Pierce and Florida "Flo" Hebert.  She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Alzire Autin Pitre; a brother, Burke Pitre; and a sister, Birdie Hebert.  She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart.  Falgout Funeral Home of Raceland is in charge of arrangements.

Florida Pitre:  Lafourche Daily Comet (LA), Tuesday, 19 April 2011:  Flo Hebert, 92, a native and resident of Cut Off, died Saturday, April 16, 2011.  Visitation will be from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off.  Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano, with burial at Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano.  She is survived by two daughters, Patsy Rink and husband, Joseph and Suzanne Pitre; one brother, Allen Pitre; seven grandchildren, Shannon Bell, Jay Rink, Lynn Crozier, Alexis Braud, George Pitre, Lauren Pitre and Ethan Pitre; and 18 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, George Hebert; her parents, John and Alzier Pitre; one brother, Burke Pitre; and three sisters, Birdie Hebert, Bella Lerille and Viole Pierce.  She was Catholic.  Samart-Mothe Funeral Home of Cut Off is in charge of arrangements.

Pitre passed away on May 16, 2012.  He was born January 20, 1932 in Cut Off, Louisiana to John and Alzire Autin Pitre.  He proudly served his country while in the US Air Force and was a resident of Aransas Pass since 1967.  He was a retired Owner and Operator in the Commercial Fishing Industry.  He was an active member of St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church, an avid Panther Fan, loved gardening, life and people.  He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Galjour Pitre; son Stewart Pitre (Mary) of Aransas Pass, Texas; four daughters, Leslie Callais (Dick) of Metairie, Louisiana, Rachelle Hubbell (Danny) of Aransas Pass, Texas, Camille Sammons (Larry) of Brady, Texas, Roxanne Sundberg (Rex) of Rockport, Texas; 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild.  Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. with family to receive friends from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., and Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 18, 2012 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home.  Mass will be celebrated at 10:00a.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Prairie View Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made by donations to Allen Pitre Scholarship Fund, for underprivileged high school seniors to further their education, 1506 Palm Dr., Aransas Pass, Texas 78336.  Arrangements entrusted to: Charlie Marshall Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2003 W.
