He was born January 20, 1932 in Cut Off, Louisiana to John and Alzire Autin
Pitre. He proudly served his country while in the US Air Force and was
a resident of Aransas Pass since 1967. He was a retired Owner and Operator
in the Commercial Fishing Industry. He was an active member of St. Mary
Star of the Sea Catholic Church, an avid Panther Fan, loved gardening, life and
people. He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Galjour Pitre;
son Stewart Pitre (Mary) of Aransas Pass, Texas; four daughters,
Leslie Callais (Dick) of Metairie, Louisiana, Rachelle Hubbell (Danny)
of Aransas Pass, Texas, Camille Sammons (Larry) of Brady, Texas,
Roxanne Sundberg (Rex) of Rockport, Texas; 12 grandchildren and one great
grandchild. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. with family to
receive friends from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., and Rosary will be recited at 7:00
p.m. on Friday, May 18, 2012 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home. Mass will
be celebrated at 10:00a.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at St. Mary Star of the Sea
Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Prairie View Cemetery. In
lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made by donations to Allen Pitre
Scholarship Fund, for underprivileged high school seniors to further their
