Raleigh John Pitre: Lafourche Daily Comet (LA), May 1996: A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano for Raleigh John Pitre, 67, a native and resident of Cut Off, who died at 4:30 p.m. Friday, May 10 (1996). Burial was in Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano. He was the husband of Velma Blanchard Pitre; father of Terral and Burke Pitre, Barbara P. Rebstock, Robin P. Vizier, Donna P. Collins, Johana P. Matherne, Jacinda P. Blanchard and Melissa P. LeBlanc; brother of Hazel Pitre and Joyce Crosby. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Burke and Ophelia P. Pitre; a son, Perry Pitre; and a great-grandchild. Falgout Funeral Home of Galliano was in charge of arrangements.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband Lindberg Joseph Crosby; parents, Ophelia and Burke Pitre and brother, Raleigh Pitre. She was 77 years of age, a native of Cut Off, LA and resident of Marrero, LA. She was a member of the Cut Off High School Class of 1948. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Thursday, April 17, 2008 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Visitation will resume at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, Golden Meadow, LA on Friday, April 18, 2008 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. A Funeral Mass will follow. Interment will be in the Church cemetery.
