Obituary:  Detroit Free Press (Detroit, MI), Wednesday, 30 May 1990:  Woolsey, Elna Ilona, a.k.a. Eleanor Peters, 87, of Detroit, Mich. passed away May 27, 1990 at St. Mary's Hospital following a brief illness.  She was born in Helsinki, Finland and resided in Bay City, Mich. most of her life and lived her later years in Detroit, Mich.  Surviving are her two children and their spouses: IdaBelle and Lawrence Seyuin of Detroit and John and Maxine Peters of Bay City; 10 grandchildren, James, Lawrence and Dwayne Seyuin, Kathy Walshon, Dianne Kerr and Lynnette Walker of Detroit, Julie Covieo, Gary, Dale and James Peters of Bay City; 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; three sisters, Anna Hansen, Viena LaForest and Sylvia Mannisto; 2 sister-in-laws, Eleanor LaTourneau and Lillian Peters; one brother-in-law, Charles Peters; several nieces and nephews.  Elna was predeceased in death by former husbands, James J. Peters and George W. Woolsey; one daughter, Edna Cecilia Peters; Parents, Johann and Anna Wihtnen; one sister Irene DeBeaumont.  Funeral service Wednesday 8 p.m. at the Hammond Chapel of the Richard M. Goodnuff Funeral Home.  Visitation Wednesday 1-9 p.m.  Interment will take place Thursday at Calvary Cemetery in Kawkawlin, Mich.  Visitation at the cemetery chapel, 1 p.m. until time of service 2 p.m.

Cecelia Edna Peters:  Bay City Times (Bay City, MI), Tuesday, 13 July 1920:  Cecelia, the infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Peters, 409 Smith street, died this morning.  The funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock from the residence.  Interment in Calvary cemetery.

 

Ida Belle Peters:  Mrs. IdaBelle Marie Seyuin of Bay City, passed away Sunday, December 21, 2014 at the Bay Shores Nursing Center, age 93 years.  The daughter of the late James and Elna Ilone (Wihtinen) Peters, she was born on June 2, 1921 in Bay City.  In 1941 IdaBelle married Lawrence J. Seyuin of Fraser, MI at St. Anne Catholic Church in Linwood.  Lawrence preceded her in death in 1996.  IdaBelle was a loving homemaker and was an active member of the Motor City Eagles Auxiliary Aerie #2265 and the D. A. V. Auxiliary #114 in Livonia.  She was also a devoted Scouting leader for 32 years.  IdaBelle was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Parish.  She enjoyed visiting with family and friends as well as playing euchre, reading, fishing and playing guitar and the organ.  IdaBelle is survived by her six children, James (fiancé, Jill Boman) Seyuin, Kathleen (Mark) Wolshon, Dianna (Norm) Kerr, Lawrence (Sherrie) Seyuin, Lynnette (Randy) Walker and Dwayne (Patricia) Seyuin; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; her brother, John J. Peters; a brother-in-law, Joseph Seyuin; a sister-in-law, Ann Jodway; and many nieces and nephews.  The Funeral Service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at St. Catherine of Siena Parish (St. Vincent de Paul Church). S r. Virginia Scally, SNDdeN will officiate over the funeral rites with Committal following at Calvary Cemetery.  Mrs. Seyuin will lie instate at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Gephart Funeral Home.

 

John Joseph Peters:  Jack passed away peacefully on Friday, January 21, 2022 at McLaren Bay Region at the age of 87.  He was born to the late James and Elinor (Wihtinen) Peters on June 14, 1934 in Bay City, Michigan.  Jack retired from driving truck for IGA Superfoods.  He was a member of the local 486 teamsters.  He also enjoyed tinkering in the garage and spending time at his cottage.  Jack is survived by his children, Julie (John) Covieo, Gary Peters, Dale (Cathy) Peters and James Peters; 9 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Jack was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Lila Maxine; sister, Idabelle (Lawrence) Seyuin; brother-in-law, Kenneth (Dolores) Boman and sister-in-law, Arlisle Losey.  The family would like to extend a very special thank you for the wonderful care that their father received at Brookdale Assisted Living and the nurses and staff from McLaren Hospice.  They would also like to thank the nurse at McLaren on the COVID unit, Mark, for going above and beyond for them.  In honoring the request of Jack, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be announced at a later date.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Wishes of the Family.
