Obituary: Wenatchee World (WA), 28 August 1995: Wenatchee - Joseph James Peters, 94, a longtime resident of the Wenatchee Valley, died Saturday morning, Aug. 26, 1995, in Colonial Vista Convalescent Center. He was born Feb. 25, 1901, in Canada, to Lawrence and Mary (Boyle) Peters. He and his family moved to the United States in 1910, settling in the Seattle area. He grew and received his education in Seattle and moved to the Wenatchee Valley area as a young man. He married Ann Kotze on Aug. 17, 1925, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Wenatchee. He was a foreman for a number of years in the fruit industry around Monitor. He also worked in Alaska in construction. He worked at Alcoa for several years as a pot room tool attendant. He retired from Alcoa in the mid-1960s. Mr. Peters was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, at the home; two sisters, Margaret Taylor, Olympia, and Agnes Hurley, Belfair; and several nieces and nephews, all of Wenatchee. He was preceded in death by three sisters. Arrangements are by Braun Funeral Home, Cashmere.
