Obituary: Monroe News Star (Monroe, LA), Tuesday, 26 December 1972: John H. (Pete) Pitre, 62, of Rt. 7, West Monroe, died Tuesday night at Ville Platte after a short illness. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel in West Monroe with the Rev. Fred Foster officiating. Burial will be in the Chatham Cemetery. A retired self-employed trucker, Mr. Pitre was a native of Opelousas. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Verlon Pitre of West Monroe; two sons, Tommy H. Pitre and James C. Pitre both of West Monroe; his mother, Mrs. Alida Pitre of Ville Platte; one brother, Lonell Pitre of Opelousas; three sisters, Mrs. Leas Young and Mrs. Harvey Bertrand, both of Opelousas, Miss Effie Pitre of Lafayette; and five grandchildren.

Obituary: Morning World (Monroe, LA), Monday, 30 January 1978: Mrs. Verlon Mae Pitre, 62, of Rt. 7, West Monroe, died Sunday morning at Glenwood Hospital following a short illness. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Kilpatrick's Funeral Home of West Monroe with the Rev. Herman Savoie officiating. Burial will be in Chatham Cemetery. Survivors include two sons, Tommy H. Pitre and James C. Pitre both of West Monroe, two brothers, Howard V. Brown of Monroe and Ernest F. Brown of Chatham; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are Michael Loflin, Scotty Beebe, Velton Frost, Russell Jordan, Roy Steele and Glenn Martin.

Tommy was born October 17, 1938 in Chatham, LA and went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 4, 2012. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was employed with Lorillard Tobacco Company for 44 years until his retirement. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in West Monroe. Tommy was a loving husband, father and grandfather who always had a big smile, a friendly handshake, and a good story or joke to share. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Verlon Pitre, son, Stephen Randall Beebe. Tommy is survived by his wife of 49 years, Clovieze Daniel Pitre, one daughter, Debbie Beebe Smith and husband Rickey, one son, Scott Beebe, daughter-in-law, Linda Beebe Parker and husband Billy, 3 granddaughters, Krystal Beebe, Traci Beebe, Angela Caldwell and husband Ran, 2 great-granddaughters, Baylee Lynn Day and Katelyn Chere Caldwell, one brother, James Pitre and a host of relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be Derek Daniel, Roger Dale Blakeney, Ran Caldwell, Mark Dolcheck and Charles Brown. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe. You will be forever in our hearts.

James Clifton Pitre: The News Star (Monroe, LA), Saturday, 14 December 2013: Funeral services for James Clifton Pitre, 67, will be 2pm Saturday December 14, 2013 at the chapel of Griffin Funeral Home West Monroe. Interment will follow at Serenity Gardens in West Monroe. James was born on July 27, 1946 in Monroe, La and passed from this world peacefully to be with the Lord on December 11, 2013. He was a resident of West Monroe and was a retired carpenter. He loved spending time with his family and worshiping the Lord. He is preceded in death by his wife Glenda Sue Sawyer Pitre, parents Hersey and Verlon Pitre and brother Tommy Pitre. Survivors include his son Todd Pitre (Danni), daughter Karen Dunn (Rudy Zeringue). Grandchildren Alicia Pitre and Ashley Dunn; also survived by very special friend Harry Auttonberry and a host of other great friends. Special thanks to the nurses in MICU at St. Francis Medical Center.
