Obituary:  The Times Transcript (Moncton, NB), Wednesday, 12 October 1966:  Bathurst - The death of Alcime Joseph Pitre, 105 Raymond Ave., occurred at Hotel Dieu on Tuesday morning at the age of 55.  Born in Beresford, he was the son of the late Albert and Catherine (Boudreau) Pitre.  Mr. Pitre was a well-known mechanic in the Bathurst area.  Besides his wife, the former Louise Doiron, he is survived by two sons, Hector of Montreal, and Edward of Toronto; four daughters, Mrs. Robin Bailey (Mona), Montreal, Mrs. Kenneth Robbins (Elvira), Beresford; Mrs. Vaughn Christopher (Delia), Campbellton; Mrs. Nelson Morrison (Jeanne), Bathurst; two brothers, Leo of Dalhousie and Arthur of Bathurst; three sisters, Mrs. Arthur Reelh (Jeanette), Mount Vernon, N.Y.; Mrs. Joseph Chamberlain (Anna), Bathurst and Mrs. Ralph Boucher (Hectorine), Petit Rocher; and nine grandchildren.  The body is resting at Hogan's funeral home.  Funeral arrangements will be announced.

 

Obituaries for the children:

Marie Albina Mona Pitre:  The Northern Light (Bathurst, NB), Tuesday, 12 April 2022:  (photo)  Mona Hamilton (nee Pitre), passed away suddenly in Bathurst on March 23, 2022.  A dedicated volunteer for Girl Guides and various hospital auxiliary groups, she leaves behind many close friends and her "soup mate", James Roherty.  Mona came from and propagated an extended family of siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  Mona is survived by her children: Laurie, Randy, Susan, Glenn, and Jennifer.  Her remaining siblings were ever supportive; Vera, Jeanne, Delia, and Eddie.  Predeceased by husband Ian, her children Ross and Carol, and brother Hector.  A small family gathering was held.  No flowers or donations please.

 

Hector Pitre:  L'Acadie Nouvelle (Caraquet, NB), Tuesday, 9 July 2002:  At the Regional General Hospital in Bathurst, on Monday, July 8, 2002, at the age of 63 years, passed away after a courageous fight against cancer, Hector Pitre of Bathurst, avenue Raymond.  Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Onesime and Louisa (Doiron) Pitre.  Besides his spouse, Joan (Manels) Pitre, he is survived by one son, Stephen Pitre of Ottawa, Ont; one daughter Dinah Payne (Eric) of Ottawa, Ont; one brother, Edward (Marlane Hampton) of Toronto, Ont.; four sisters: Mona Hamilton (Ian), Vera Robbins (Kenneth), Jeanne Morrison (Nelson) and Delia Christopher (Vaughan), all of Bathurst, also grandson Jared and several nephews and nieces.  Mr. Pitre was a self-employed mechanic for most of his life.  The mortal remains are currently on display at the Elhatton Funeral Home.  A memorial mass will be celebrated at the Sainte Famille Church in Bathurst, Wednesday, July 10, at 11 a.m.  At the request of the family, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
