Obituary:  Detroit Free Press (Detroit, MI), Sunday, 18 March 1934:  (photo) John E. Peters - Following services at the home at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday solemn requiem high mass will be sung at St. Benedict's Church at 9 for John E. Peters, 650 Brentwood Ave., widely known in automobile circles here.  Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.  Mr. Peters died at his home Friday at the age of 60 after an illness of a year.  He was born in Detroit and attended Detroit College, now the University of Detroit.  For the past 20 years he had been salesman and then sales-manager for the Federal Motor Truck Co.  Previously he was with the Thompson Auto Co.  During the Spanish-American War he served in Cuba.  He was a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus and a member of the Rotary Club, the Elks, the Detroit Yacht Club and the United Spanish War Veterans.  Surviving are his wife, Ellen; a daughter, Margaret; two sisters, Mrs. Wilbur Jackman and Mrs. John Schroeder, and a brother, Charles.
