Obituary:  The Beaumont Enterprise (Beaumont, TX), Wednesday, 5 August 1998:  Joseph D. 'Pete' Pitre, 81, of Beaumont died Aug. 2 at Baptist Hospital.  Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Broussard's Mortuary in Beaumont with burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. today at the mortuary.  A native of Lafayette, La., he lived in Beaumont many years, was retired from Southwestern Bell Fleet Maintenance and an Army veteran of World War II.  Survivors include his wife, Melba Pitre of Beaumont, daughter, Pat Holloway of Southwick, Mass.; and six grandchildren.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Obituary:  The Beaumont Enterprise (Beaumont, TX), Thursday, 16 September 1999:  Melba Sonnier Pitre, 79, of Beaumont died Sept. 14 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital.  Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Broussard's Mortuary in Beaumont with burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.  A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday at the mortuary.  A native of Kaplan, La., she lived in Beaumont most of her life and was a retired Beaumont Enterprise ad composer.  Survivors include her daughter, Pat Holloway of Southwick, Mass., six grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.

Brenda Louise Pitre:  The Galveston Daily News (Galveston, TX), Saturday, 25 August 1990:  Texas City - Brenda L. Pevoto, 49, of Texas City died Friday at Danforth Hospital in Texas City.  Services are 10 a.m. Monday at the Chapel of James Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque.  The Rev. Bob Flick will officiate.  Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Dickinson.  Visitation is 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.  A Christian Vigil will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Paul Chovanec officiating.  Born July 20, 1941 in Lafayette, La., Mrs. Pevoto was a teacher at O'Connell High School in Galveston for three years.  A former resident of Dickinson, she resided in Texas City for 21 years, was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Texas City and was a member of the Southeast Texas Genealogy Society.  Survivors include her husband, Tom Pevoto of Texas City; parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Pitre of Beaumont; grandmother, Louise Sonnier of Beaumont; sons, Eric Thomas Pevoto of Houston and Neil David Pevoto of Texas City; sister, Patricia Holloway of Stillwater, Minn.; and brother, James Pitre of Port Neches. Memorials may be sent to the Moore Public Library.
