Obituary:  Springfield Union (MA), Saturday, 29 May 1965: Mr. LaPite rites - Chicopee - The funeral of Dore J. LaPite of 97 Rivers Ave., Willimansett, was held Friday at the C. Blais & Son funeral home, with a solemn high mass of requiem in the Church of the Nativity.  Rev. Leon Sauvageau was celebrant. Rev. Leon Lussier, deacon, and Rev. Leo Fontaine, subdeacon.  Bearers were Rudolph Courchesne, Robert Perreault, Arthur LaPite, Ernest and Edward Duguay and Richard Crevier.  Burial was in St. Rose, conducted the service at the grave.

Obituary:  Springfield Union (MA), Friday, 7 March 1969: Mrs. Fidelie Lapite - Chicopee - Mrs. Fidelie (Perreault) LaPite, 65, of 6 Forest St., Willimansett, died Thursday in her home.  She was a retired employee of the former Livingston Mills.  She is survived by two sons, Dore and Arthur, both of Willimansett and a sister, Mrs. Armand Courchesne of South Hadley.  C. Blais and Son funeral home is in charge.  Burial will be in St. Rose Cemetery, Aldenville.

Dore Joseph Lapitre:  Transcript Telegram (Holyoke, MA), Wednesday, 7 June 1989:  Chicopee - Dore J. Lapite Jr., 64, of 50 Edward St., a retired 25-year truck driver for Holmes Transportation Co., died Tuesday in Holyoke Hospital.  He retired in 1987.  Born in Holyoke March 1, 1925, he was the son of Dore J. Lapite and Fedelia (Perreault) Lapite.  He lived in Chicopee most of his life and attended local schools.  He was a communicant of St. George's Church and a member of Teamsters Union Local 404 of Springfield.  He was also a World War II Army veteran.  He leaves his wife, the former May E. Vaillette; three sons, Joseph N. Lapite of Chicopee, and Paul A. Lapite and Raymond J. Lapite, at home; two daughters, Ann L. Aubuchon of Chicopee, and Deborah A. Lapite at home; a brother, Arthur Lapite of Chicopee; and three grandchildren.  The funeral will be Thursday at 8 a.m. at St. Pierre Aldenville Funeral Home, followed at 9 a.m. by a Mass of Christian burial in St. George's Church, with burial in St. Rose Cemetery.  Calling hours at the funeral home are today from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Needham.

 

Arthur Edward Lapite:  The Republican (Springfield, MA), Friday, 30 May 2014:  Arthur E. Pete Lapite, 84, of the Willimansett section of Chicopee, entered into eternal rest with his loving family by his side on Tuesday, May 27, 2014.  He was born on June 25, 1929 to the late Fedeli (Perrault) and Dore Lapite, Sr.  He was predeceased in 1991 by his wife of 42 years, Alida (Labonte) Lapite.  He was also predeceased by his brother, Dore Sonny Lapite, Jr., and his son-in-law, Gerald Barowsky.  He will be greatly missed by his daughters, Lorraine Lacasse and her husband, Gerard, of South Hadley and Suzanne Barowsky of Chicopee with whom he was living; his dear granddaughters, Samantha Barowsky of Chicopee and Rebecca Barowsky of South Hadley; and his precious great-grandson, Jacob.  He also leaves his sister-in-law, May (Robidoux) Lapite Bonafilia of Chicopee and numerous nieces and nephews.  Pete was a truck driver most of his life starting in the late 1940s delivering coal for the Prew Coal Company, moving to New England Container and then finally retiring from Sweeney Transportation.  He was a member of the Teamsters Local 404.  He was a ten year veteran of the National Guard and was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant.  He loved his cars and trucks and could often be found overhauling or tinkering with them.  He loved moving snow in the winter.  He was always there for his neighbors and had a very hard time saying no to anyone who asked for help.  He was a communicant of St. Patrick Church in South Hadley.  Calling hours will be held on Saturday morning (today), May 31, 2014 from 8:30 10:30 a.m. at the Ryder Funeral Home, South Hadley, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Saint Patrick Church, South Hadley.  Burial will be at a later date at the convenience of the family.
