Obituary:  Basile Weekly (Basile, LA), Thursday, 28 January 1988:  Funeral service were held at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Elton at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 25, 1988 for Mrs. Charles (Bernia) Pitre, 81, with burial following in St. Paul's Cemetery.  Mrs. Pitre, a resident of Elton died at Moosa Memorial Hospital in Eunice on January 24, 1988 at 4:15 a.m.  Survivors include 3 sons, Anthony T. Pitre and Harold C. Pitre both of Elton, Merlin R. "Bobby" Pitre of Basile, 3 daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Finn, Mrs. Joyce L. M. Williamson, both of Elton, Mrs. Virginia Bertrand of Eunice, 4 sisters, Mable Lejeune of Kinder, Mrs. Wilma Deville of Eunice, Mrs. Leona Hebert of Basile, Mrs. Georgia Fuselier of Rose, Texas, 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Evelyn Pitre:  Basile Weekly (Basile, LA), Thursday, 22 April 1993:  Funeral services were held at St. Paul Catholic Church in Elton at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 13, for Evelyn Finn, 63, with burial following in the old St. Paul Cemetery.  Reverend Marshall Boulet officiated over the services.  Mrs. Finn, a resident of Elton for the last 63 years, died Sunday, April 11, 1993, in Elton.  Mrs. Finn was born in Lawtell.  Survivors include her three sons, Ronnie Dale Morgan of Houston, Texas, Danny Charles Finn of Basile, and Roderick Karl Finn of Elton; three brothers, Anthony Terling Pitre of Houston, Harold Charles Pitre of Elton, and Marlin (Bobby) Pitre of Basile; two sisters, Joyce (Lee Marie) Williamson of Elton and Mary Virginia Bertrand of Eunice; and nine grandchildren.  Ardoin's Funeral Home of Elton was in charge of arrangements.

Joyce Lee Pitre:  Joyce L. M. Williamson, February 22, 1934 - May 20, 2019:  Elton - Funeral Services for Joyce L. M. Williamson, 85, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Elton.  Rev. Jose Vattakunnel will officiate.  Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.  The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home from 11 a.m. until time of service on Thursday, May 23, 2019.  Joyce was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt.  She was a devoted wife to her husband, Bobby, for 41 years until his passing in June of 1991.  She was a woman of strong faith.  She enjoyed her country life, privacy and doing things for herself.  Joyce traveled the world as a military wife with her husband seeing things most people only dream of seeing.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.  Those left to cherish Joyce’s memory include her two sons, Robert 'Bobby' Williamson and wife, Diana, of Sulphur and Rodger Williamson and wife, Rose, of Mansura; one daughter, Theresa Aube of Elton; one sister, Virginia Bertrand and husband, Clayton, of Eunice; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.  Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Bernice Pitre; four brothers, Warren, Bobby, Harold and Anthony Pitre and one sister, Evelyn Finn.

Harold C. Pitre:  The Kinder Courier News (Kinder, LA), Thursday, 17 March 1994:  Elton - Funeral services for Harold C. Pitre, 57, were held March 12 in Elton United Pentecostal Church.  The Rev. M. G. Davis officiated.  Burial was in the old St. Paul Cemetery.  Mr. Pitre died Monday, March 7, 1994 in his residence.  A native of Opelousas and a longtime resident of the Elton area, he was owner and manager of Pitre's Gulf Service Station in Elton.  Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Bonnie Pitre of Houston; three sons, Michael Damon Pitre and Jeffrey Todd Pitre of Houston, and Christopher Pitre of Elton; one daughter, Tammy Pitre of Humble, Tex.; two brothers, Anthony T. Pitre of Houston and Bobby Pitre of Basile; two sisters, Mrs. Joyce Williamson of Elton and Mrs. Virginia Bertrand of Eunice; and four grandchildren.

 

Merlin Robert 'Bobby' Pitre:  Basile Weekly (Basile, LA), Thursday, 16 March 1995:  Funeral services were held at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 12, 1995, for Mr. Merlin Robert 'Bobby' Pitre, 52, with burial following in the Ashford Cemetery in Eunice.  Mr. Pitre, a resident of Basile died Friday, March 10, 1995 at 10:37 p.m. at Savoy Medical Center, Inc. in Mamou.  Mr. Pitre was a gage reader.  Survivors include one son, Jason Pitre of Basile; one daughter Mrs. Bryan (Roxanne) Vidrine of Eunice; one brother Anthony T. Pitre of Colorado Springs, Co.; two sisters, Joyce Williamson of Elton and Mrs. Blinky (Virginia) Bertrand of Eunice; and four grandchildren. Quirk & Son Funeral Home of Basile was in charge of arrangements.
