Obituary:  The Times Transcript (Moncton, NB), Tuesday, 7 March 1967:  Bathurst - The death of Benoit J. L. Pitre, 1325 King Avenue, occurred at the Hotel Dieu Sunday night after an illness of several months.  He was 58.  Born in South Tetagouche, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Ann (Daigle) Pitre.  When forced to discontinue work due to illness he was an employee of the North Shore Construction Company.  A veteran, Mr. Pitre served in the Canadian Army during the Second World War.  Surviving besides his wife, the former Priscilla Pitre, are three sons, Valmond, Hector and Roger, at home, four daughters, Edna, Macrina, Annette and Carmella, also at home; two brothers, Albert of South Tetagouche and Aldon of Athol, Massachusetts; four sisters, Mrs. Fred Gauthier (Bridgit), Bathurst, Mrs. Adrien Henry (Lucy) and Miss Alfreda Pitre, South Tetagouche and Mrs. Eric Imough (Yvonne), Athol, Mass., and one grandchild.  The body is resting at Hogan's funeral home from where the funeral will be held at St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church for requiem mass on Wednesday at 9 a.m.  The body will be placed in the South Bathurst parish vault pending interment in the spring.

Obituary:  The Times Transcript (Moncton, NB), Tuesday, 7 August 1990:  Bathurst - Mrs. Priscilla Pitre, 68, widow of Benoit Pitre, of 225 Hillside Ave., Bathurst, died Saturday at Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, following a brief illness.  Born in South Tetagouche, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Rose (Pitre) Pitre.  Her husband died in 1967.  She is survived by two sons, Hector and Roger, both of Ste. Anne's; four daughters, Edna, Annette and Carmella Pitre, all of Bathurst, and Mrs. Earl Legacy (Macrina) of Bathurst; four brothers, Vincent, Leo, Thomas and Aurele, all of South Tetagouche; a step-daughter, Nicole Pitre, of Bathurst; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.  Funeral mass was celebrated Monday at St. Mary Magdelene Roman Catholic Church, South Tetagouche.  Interment was in the church cemetery.  Arrangements were in the care of Elhatton's Funeral home, Bathurst.

Valmond Pitre:  The Times Transcript (Moncton, NB), Friday, 28 March 1986:  Bathurst - Valmond Pitre, 43, of St. Annes died Thursday at his residence.  Born in South Tetagouche, he was the son of Priscilla (Pitre) and the late Benoit Pitre.  He was a woodsworker in the Bathurst area.  Besides his mother, he is survived by two brothers, Roger and Hector, both of St. Annes; four sisters, Mrs. Earl Legacy (Macrina) of Salem Beach, Annette and Edna, both of Bathurst, Carmella of St. Annes; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.  The body is at Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst.  Funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday at 2 p.m. at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Bathurst.  Burial will be in the parish cemetery later in the spring.
