Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Thursday, 24 August 1967:  Funeral services are pending for J. B. 'Bot' Pitre, 55, of Gonzales, who died at 9:30 this morning of self-inflicted gunshot wounds.  His body will be brought to Lafond and Son Funeral Home in Opelousas tonight.  Services will be held in Grand Prairie.  The death was ruled a suicide by Ascension Parish authorities.  Survivors are his widow, the former Louanna Roberie; three sons, John Elvin and Carl Pitre of Gonzales and Pfc. Charles J. Pitre of Fort Polk; three daughters, Mrs. Ronald Miller, Houma; Mrs. Wayne Marchand, Gonzales; Mrs. Don Mistric, Opelousas; two brothers, Luke Pitre of Baton Rouge and Colton Pitre, Cottondale, Fla.; four sisters, Mrs. Orise Foret, Ville Platte; Mrs. Luke Ardoin, Grand Prairie; Mrs. Darius Ardoin, Mamou, and Mrs. Moise Ortego, Tate Cove.

Obituary:  Houma Courier (Houma, LA), 5 July 2001:  Lou Anna Roberie Pitre, 84, a native of Grand Prairie and a resident of Gonzales, died Tuesday, July 3, 2001 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Gonzales.  A memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas.  Her body was donated to science.  She is survived by six children, Marie "Jeanette" Miller of Houma, Margie Mistric of Opelousas, Marita and Jesse Holland of Meadville, Miss., John Elvin and Etta Pitre, Charles and Christy Pitre and Carl and Vickie Pitre, all of Gonzales; one brother, Gervis Roberie Sr. of Ville Platte; two sisters, Lenias Sebastain of Opelousas, and Grace Pitts of New Orleans; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. "Bot" Pitre; five brothers, Elta, Fred, Murray, Mayo and Maurice Roberie; and two sisters, Eleanor Brignac and Hazel Ortego.  She was a homemaker.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to any charity.

Carl J. Pitre:  The Advocate (Baton Rouge, LA), Monday, 13 August 2012:  Carl J. Pitre, a native of Ville Platte, LA and resident of Gonzales, LA.  On Friday, August 10, 2012 he took his final ride on his Harley through the eternal gates to heaven.  He was surrounded by family and friends when he passed at the age of 57.  He was a loving father, brother and friend.  He's a retired self-employed truck driver.  Survived by daughter, Ashley Pitre and fiancé Kelly Salassi.  Three sisters, Jeanette Miller, Margie Mistric and Merita Holland.  Two brothers, John Elvin and Charles Pitre.  Also survived by numerous of nieces and nephews and many friends.  Preceded in death by his mother, Lou Anna Roberie Pitre and father, Jean Baptiste Pitre.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman and his passion was to ride his motorcycle.  Visitation will be held at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 West New River Street, Gonzales, LA on Monday, August 13, 2012 from 6-9 p.m.  Visitation will continue on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 from 9-11 a.m. with services to immediately follow.  A special thanks to Bridgeway Hospice for the wonderful care and compassion they have given.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations would be greatly appreciated.  Ascension Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
