Obituary:  Sun Journal (Lewiston, ME), Wednesday, 27 January 1954:  Mexico - John B. Peters, 66, died Monday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Joseph A. Arsenault, 44 Middle Ave., with whom he had made his home.  He was born Feb. 11, 1887, P.E.I., son of Eusebius and Philomene Wedge Peters.  A former millwright at Oxford Paper Co., he retired three years ago.  He had been a resident of Mexico more than 30 years.  He was a member of Holy Name Society, K. of C., and A. G. Barry Council, K. of C.  Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Joseph A. Arsenault, Mrs. Wilfred Doherty, both of Mexico, and Mrs. Sylvio Morneau, Biddeford; a brother, Albert Peters, Bloomfield, P.E.I.; two sisters, Mrs. Leon Peters, Bloomfield, and Mrs. John J. Arsenault, Providence, R.I., seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Obituary:  The Lewiston Daily Sun (Lewiston, ME), Monday, 31 July 1950:  Mexico - Mrs. Catherine Peters, 71, wife of John C. Peters and a resident of Mexico for the past 28 years, died Saturday at her home, 44 Middle Avenue.  She had been ill for one and one half years.  Born Nov. 1, 1879, at Hope River, P.E.I., she was the daughter of Napoleon and Margaret Doriaon Gallant.  She was a member of the Ste. Anne Sodality and of the Assumption Society.  She is survived by her husband, three daughters, Mrs. Joseph A. Arsenault and Mrs. Wilfred Doherty, both of Mexico, and Mrs. Sylvia Morneau, of Biddeford; two brothers, James Gallant, of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Gilbert Gallant; a sister, Mrs. Joseph O. Gallant, of Hope River, P.E.I.; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Fostina A. Peters:  The Lewiston Daily Sun (Lewiston, ME), Friday, 11 November 1988:  Rumford - Fostina P. 'Angie' Arsenault, 83, widow of Joseph A. 'Farmer Jones' Arsenault, of 20 Congress St., died Thursday at the Rumford Community Hospital, where she had been a patient for one week.  She was born March 3, 1905, in Mexico, the daughter of John and Catherine Gallant Peters.  A resident of Mexico for most of her life, she was a communicant of St. Theresa's Church, and a member of the Mexico Ladies of Ste. Anne.  She was educated in schools in Hope River, Prince Edward Island.  Survivors include a son, Ronnie Arsenault of Portland; four daughters, Mrs. Camille (Eleanor) Martin, Rita Woods, and Mrs. Anthony (Gloria) Lavorgna, all of Mexico, and Mary Preble of Rumford; 21 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

 

Marguerite Anne Pitre:  The Lewiston Daily Sun (Lewiston, ME), Thursday, 16 November 1961:  Mexico - Mrs. Margaret A. Doherty, 53, died Wednesday at Rumford Community Hospital, where she had been a patient two months.  She had resided in this town 37 years, at 14 Gleason St.  She was born Jan. 26, 1908, at Bloomfield, PEI, daughter of John and Catherine Gallant Peters.  She had worked at Berst-Foster Company, Dixfield, in the packing department more than five years.  She was a communicant of St. Theresa's Church and a member of the Ladies of St. Anne of that church.  Surviving are her husband, Wilfred M.; a daughter, Mrs. George Tripp, Hartford, Conn.; and a son, William M., Hartford, Conn.; three grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Joseph A. Arsenault, Mexico; and Mrs. Sylvio Morneau, Biddeford.

 

Marie Nora Pitre:  Biddeford-Saco Journal (Biddeford, ME), Saturday, 8 January 1972:  Mrs. Nora Morneau, 62, a resident of 22 Elm St., Biddeford, died yesterday in a local hospital following a brief illness.  Born in Bloomfield, Prince Edward Island, Canada, March 21, 1909, she was the daughter of John B. and Catherine (Gallant) Peters.  She was educated in Rumford schools and had resided in Biddeford for the last 30 years.  A communicant of St. Joseph Church, Biddeford, she was employed by John Roberts Inc., Biddeford, for 11 years, retiring last October.  Surviving are her widower, Sylvio Morneau of Biddeford; a son, Richard Morneau of Biddeford; a sister, Mrs. Joseph A. Arsenault of Mexico; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 9:30 a.m. from St. Joseph Cemetery, interment will be in the family lot at St. Joseph Cemetery, Biddeford.  Friends may call at the Sansoucy Funeral Home, Biddeford, today and tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
