Obituaries for the children:

Denise Marie Pitre:  Maison funeraire Racine Robert & Gauthier (ONT), 2 June 2023:  It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear sister Denise.  She left too soon, on May 27, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones.  We would like to thank the amazing critical care team at The Ottawa General Campus.  They took good care of her with gentleness and attention until her last breath.  We would also like to thank the nurses on the dialysis team at Riverside Hospital who have supported her over the course of the year and especially during the last few weeks by offering her help at home and keeping her company.  In her work, Denise has been innovative in creating programs for royal visits.  She was long before her time.  Denise also knew how to keep her friendships for many years.  Towards the end, Denise showed great courage as well as acceptance and inner peace.  Her sense of humour was always there until the end and she knew how to make those around her laugh.  Her games on her i-pad helped her get through her endless days a bit.  Rest well Denise, your sufferings are over.  You will be greatly missed.  She was predeceased by her parents, Blanche Menard and Armand Pitre, her brother Gilles Pitre and her niece Stephanie Hayes; sweet sister of Suzanne Hayes (Terry Hayes), Claudette Pitre, Francoise Pitre, Dianne Poitras (Jean-Claude Poitras), beloved aunt of Kevin Hayes (Cameron, Duncan, Mallory), Michele Hayes (Geoff, Stephen, Theresa), Chris Hayes (Tita Hayes, Christopher, Zachary), Stephane Poitras, Julie Lalonde (Val Thomas) Sylvain Poitras (Carole Barbeau, Myriam, Florent).  Donations to one of the following societies would be greatly appreciated: Diabetes Association, Kidney Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Gilles Pitre:  The Ottawa Citizen (Ottawa, ONT), Saturday, 8 December 2012:  (photo) Gilles Pitre, It is with sadness that we announce the death of our brother Gilles Pitre on November 21, 2012 at the age of 67.  He passed away peacefully at the hospital in Abbotsford, BC.  Loving son of the late Armand Raoul Pitre and the late Blanche Menard Pitre.  He will be sadly missed by his family; his sisters Suzanne (Terry Hayes), Claudette, Denise, Francoise, Dianne (Jean Claude Poitras); his nephews and nieces Kevin (Joanne, Duncan, Cameron, Mallory), Michele (Stephen, Geofry, Theresa), Chris (Tita, Christopher, Zachary), the late Stephanie, Julie (Val), Stephane, Sylvain (Carole and Myriam).  A memorial service will be organized at a later date pending the arrival of his ashes.  In memory of Gilles, donations to the Diabetes Foundation would be appreciated.
