Obituary:  North Bay Nugget (North Bay, ONT), Saturday, 10 January 1970:  A North Bay resident, a retired section foreman with the ONR, James Albert Peters, R.R. 2, died in hospital Friday following a lengthy illness.  He was 69.  Friends may pay their respects at the McGuinty Funeral Home after 7 p.m. today.  Requiem high mass will be celebrated at St. Peter's Church, Monday at 9:30 a.m. and interment will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery.  James Peters was born Nov. 22, 1900 at Hope River, Prince Edward Island, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lionel Peters.  His marriage to the former Lumina Hebert took place at Val Gagne in 1923 and the family moved to North Bay 10 years ago.  A 25-year employee of the ONR, Mr. Peters had formerly lived in Parry Sound, Athens, Ont. and Monteith.  Surviving are his wife, three sons, Leo of North Bay, Ronald of Mansfield, Ohio and Ernest of Chrysler, Ont., as well as two daughters Mrs. John Gill (Lillian) of Brockville and Mrs. Douglas Perkins (Anita) of Jellyby, Ont.

 

Obituaries for the children:

Lionel Leo Peters:  Peters, Lionel - Peacefully at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Monday October 12, 2015 while in his 92 year.  Predeceased by both of his beloved wives Reta and Jeanne.  The oldest child of the late James Albert Peters and Lumina Hebert, Lionel was predeceased by all of his siblings, Ronald, Ernest, Lillian and Anita.  He will be fondly remembered by his step-daughter Isabelle, his many nieces and nephews and his cousin Wilfred "Bud" Hebert and his wife Jean.  Born in Monteith, Lionel was a plumber by profession.  He worked for many years for Smith & Nelson Contracting before joining the staff at CFB North Bay.  He will be remembered as a dedicated member and Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus.  Friends may call at the Martyn Funeral Home on Friday evening from 7-9 pm.  Mass of Christina Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter the Apostle Church at 11:00am Saturday October 17.  Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery.  If desired donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.

 

Joseph Ronald Peters:  Mansfield - J. Ronald "Ron" Peters, 86, of Mansfield died July 12, 2013 at his home after a long illness.  We may no longer see his smile or hear his laughter but his love and quiet strength will always be with us.  He was born July 9, 1927 in Monteith, Ontario, Canada, the son of James and Lumina (Hebert) Peters.  Mr. Peters retired in 1987 from Peters & Sons Construction where he was co-owner.  He was a member of St. Mary of the Snows Catholic Church where he was an usher for many years and the Knights of Columbus Council #4448 where he was a past Grand Knight and a Fourth Degree Member.  He was a quiet man who enjoyed fishing, gardening, his trips to Canada, playing cards, watching the Indians and Browns games, woodworking and especially the get-togethers and picnics with his children and their families.  Mr. Peters is survived by his loving wife, Ruth (Smith) Peters whom he married May 20, 1950; five daughters and two sons-in-law, Ruth (Forest) Bosley of Mansfield, Peggy Peters of Galloway, MaryLou Peters-Krebs of Mansfield, Judy Peters of Phoenix, Arizona, and Susan (John) Moloci of Grove City; four sons and one daughter-in-law, Ron (Mary Sue) Peters of Hamilton, Bill Peters of Mansfield, Tom Peters of Phoenix, Arizona, and Larry Peters of Mansfield; 18 grandchildren, Mike Bosley of Oklahoma, Dave Bosley of Lebanon, Ruth (John) Bourne of Mansfield, Angie (Ryan) Parker of Lexington, Caitlyn Peters of Florida, Larry Peters of Virginia, Beth Peters of Florida, Chris (Gail) Peters of Texas, Randy (Julie) Peters of Brunswick, Mary Ann Peters of Mansfield, Kathy Peters of Mansfield, Kristian Peters of Mansfield, Joshua (Tracy) Peters of Bellville, TJ (Faith) Krebs of Mansfield, Jared Krebs of Shelby, Matt Peters of Mansfield, Kyle Peters of Mansfield, and Ben Moloci of Grove City; 15 great-grandchildren; one brother, Leo Peters of North Bay, Ontario, Canada; two sisters-in-law, Sheila Holda of Galion and Teresa (Jim) Davidson of Wellington; one brother-in-law, Dave Smith of Brandon, Mississippi; and multiple nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Travis Krebs of Mansfield, two sisters, Lillian Gills and Annitta Nichols both of Ontario, Canada; one brother, Ernie Peters of Ontario, Canada, mother and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Smith; one sister-in-law, Catherine Phillips of California; and one brother -in-law Larry Smith of Columbus.  Friends may call at Herlihy-Chambers Funeral Home, on Tuesday from 5-8pm, with a vigil service at 5pm.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 am Wednesday at St. Mary of the Snows Catholic Church with Fr. Nelson Beaver officiating.  Burial will follow in Mansfield Catholic Cemetery.
