Obituary:  Daily Gleaner (Fredericton, NB), Friday, 5 September 1997:  Arthur Albert (Art) Pitre of Quispamsis, formerly of Riverside Drive in Bathurst, died in the Palliative Care Unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital at the age of 81, September 4, 1997.  He was predeceased by his wife Constance (Connie Kenny) Pitre.  He is survived by his daughter, Evelyn (Cookie) Frenette and her husband Roland of Quispamsis, three grandchildren, Cindy ( Mrs. Brent Moore) of Quispamsis, Patty (Mrs. Hugh Steele) of Sussex, and Jeffrey of Montreal, two great grandchildren, Elizabeth Anne and Jonathan Peter Moore, two sisters, Anna Hache and Hectorina Boucher both of Bathurst.  Arthur was also predeceased by three brothers, Leo and John of Dalhousie, Onesime of Bathurst, sisters Jehanne Reehi of New York and Albina Roy of Atholville.  He has been an active member of St. Marks Parish for 13 years.  The body will be resting at Fundy Funeral Home (646-2424) Westmorland Road.  Visiting hours from 7- 9 p.m. on Friday September 5.  Prayers by members of St. Marks Parish at 8:00 p.m.  Funeral mass will be celebrated at Saint Marks Church, Pettinghill Road, Quispamsis at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 6.  Donations to the Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice would be welcomed.  A memorial service will be held in Bathurst at the Holy Family Church on Tuesday, September 9.  Interment will be at Holy Rosary Cemetery, in Bathurst.

Obituary:  The Times Transcript (Moncton, NB), Thursday, 15 December 1983:  Bathurst - Mrs. Connie Pitre, 65, of 859 Riverside Drive here, died Dec. 7, 1983 at Chaleur General Hospital.  Born in Bathurst, she was a daughter of the late James and Frances (Melanson) Kenny.  She was employed at Schrier's Style Centre for 27 years until retirement in 1981.  She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Herman J. Good V. C. Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 18, and the Holy Family Council of the CWL.  She is survived by her husband Arthur Pitre; one daughter, Mrs. Roland Frenette (Evelyn), Quispamsis; three sisters, Sr. Paul of the Cross (Adrienne) Kenny, Edmonton, Alta.; Mrs. Charles Nichols (Evelyn), Boynton Beach, Fla.; Joan Kenny, Jacksonville Beach, Fla.; four brothers, Cletus, Harold, Byron, and Paul, all of Bathurst and three grandchildren.  The body was at Elhatton's Funeral Home here.  Funeral mass was celebrated Dec. 10 from Holy Family Roman Catholic Church.  Interment was in the parish cemetery.
