1952: An oil heater explosion at 5:30 p.m. Saturday caused a fire which
damaged a three-story wooden structure at 524 St. Philip to the extent of $75,
First District police reported. The room in which the explosion occurred
is occupied by Albert Pitre, 85, police said. They estimated
contents were damaged $50.
