Obituary: Houma Courier (LA): Jules Anthony Pitre Sr., 71, a native and resident of Houma, died at 12:26 a.m. Tuesday, April 21, 1998. Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with burial in St. Louis Cemetery. He is survived by two sons, Jules A. Pitre Jr. and David J. Pitre Sr., both of Houma; two daughters, Mrs. Terry (Glenna) DeRoche Sr. and Mrs Donald (Delia) Babin Jr., both of Houma; three brothers, Albert and Harold Pitre, both of Houma, and Aaron J. Pitre of Cocodrie; one sister, Elsie Mae Porche of Houma; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Duet Pitre; his parents, Bernard and Anesia Hebert Pitre; one daughter, Edne Pitre; four sisters, Jenny Bergeron, Jeannette Buquet, Aline Bonvillian and Libby Burche; and one granddaughter, Mary Pitre. He was a retired maintenance employee for Texaco, Inc., a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus St. Louis Bayou Blue Council No. 7657, and a parishioner of St. Louis Catholic Church.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 11 from 11 a.m. until a funeral service at 1 p.m. at Chauvin Funeral Home. Burial will follow at St. Louis Catholic Church Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Cherand Clement Pitre, his sons, John R. Pitre Sr. and Jules "Trey" Pitre III; his daughter, Robin M. Hubbard; his grandchildren, Holli Landry, John Pitre Jr., Gabrielle Pitre, Tyler Hubbard, Trent Hubbard, Anecia Lynn Pitre, Alexander Pitre, and Christian Dupre; his sister, Glenna Pitre DeRoche and husband Terry DeRoche Sr.; and his brother, David Pitre and wife Mary. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jules Pitre Sr. and Edna Duet Pitre; his sister Della Pitre Babin and husband Donald; and his sister Edna Pitre. He was a parishioner of St. Louis Catholic Church. He worked for the Department of the Interior's Mineral Management Services for 35 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Louis and a member of the AARP Shrimpers Row, Morgan City. He was a proud member of Hideaway Ponds in Gibson, LA. Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Della Ann Pitre: Della Ann Pitre Babin, 50, a native and resident of Houma, died at 1:51 p.m. Saturday Nov. 11, 2006. She is survived by her husband, Donald Babin of Houma; one son, Donnie Babin of Houma; two daughters, Debbie LaJaunie and Dawn Babin of Houma; two brothers, Jules Pitre Jr. and David Pitre of Houma; one sister, Glenda Deroche of Houma; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jules Pitre Sr. and Edna Duet Pitre; and one grandson, Gauge LaJaunie. She was a homemaker.
