Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Thursday, 22 January 1987:  Ville Platte - Funeral services for Adelin J. Pitre, 87, were to be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church here with burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery of Prairie Ronde.  Mr. Pitre, a retired farmer of Ville Platte, died at 6:45 a.m. Wednesday at his residence.  Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Louise Ortego Pitre of Ville Platte; a son, Riley Pitre of DeRidder; a daughter, Mrs. Harris (Wilda) Veillon of Ville Platte; a brother, Theodore Pitre of Opelousas; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.  Ardoin Funeral Home of Ville Platte is directing.

Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Tuesday, 11 June 1963:  Ville Platte - Funeral services were held Monday at Sacred Heart chapel in Prairie Ronde for Mrs. Adelin Pitre, 59, the former Bertha Prudhomme, who died unexpectedly at her home near Prairie Ronde Saturday at approximately 3:30 p.m.  Survivors include her husband; one son Riley Pitre of Elizabeth; one daughter, Mrs. Harris Veillon of Ville Platte; her mother Mrs. Alein Cortez of Opelousas; four brothers, all of Opelousas, Cursey Prudhomme, Mitchell Prudhomme, Ammy Prudhomme and Corey Cortez; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Prudhomme of Opelousas and Mrs. Noah Vidrine of Eunice, and five grandchildren.  Burial was in the church cemetery with Ardoin Funeral Home conducting the burial.

Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Thursday, 12 September 1991:  Ville Platte - Funeral services for Mrs. Louise Deshotel Pitre, the former Louise Ortego, 92, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church here with burial in the church cemetery.  Mrs. Pitre, a resident of Ville Platte, died at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Savoy Medical Center in Mamou.  Survivors include: a brother, John B. Ortego of Ville Platte.  The funeral home will close at 10 p.m. today and reopen at 7 a.m. Friday until time of services.  A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m.  Ardoin's Funeral Home of Ville Platte is in charge of arrangements.
