Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Wednesday, 28 April 1954:  Ville Platte - Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. today at Sacred Heart Catholic church for J. A. Pitre, 48, who died at 6:50 a.m. yesterday after an illness of approximately two months.  Burial was in the church cemetery with Ardoin Funeral Home in charge.  Mr. Pitre is survived by his mother, Mrs. J. L. Pitre; four sisters, Mrs. Darius Ardoin of Mamou, Mrs. Luke Ardoin of Grand Prairie, and Mrs. Orise Foret and Mrs. Moise Ortego, Ville Platte; three brothers, Colton Pitre of Cottondale, Fla., J. B. and Luke Pitre of Grand Prairie.
