Obituary:  Sun Journal (Lewiston, ME), Tuesday, 21 January 1947:  Dixfield - Mrs. Madeline Charlotte Petrie, 68, wife of John A. Petrie, died Monday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Noel Thibodeau, Pine Street, where she had been living the past nine months.  Mrs. Petrie was born Jan. 10, 1879 at Howlan, P.E.I., the daughter of Joseph and Mary Arsenault.  She had lived in this vicinity 45 years and was a member of St. Theresa's Church at Mexico and Dames de Ste. Anne.  Besides her husband, she leaves three daughters, Mrs. Ellsworth Miller and Mrs. Thibodeau of Dixfield, and Mrs. John Bernard of Ridlonville; a son, Leo of Ridlonville; two sisters, Mrs. Catherine Gallant and Miss Josephine Arsenault, and two brothers, Frank and Benjamin all of Howlan; nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Evelyn Clara Petrie:  The Times Leader (Wilkes-Barre, PA), Tuesday, 10 November 1992 Evelyn Miller, of Robert Street, Mountaintop, died Monday at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.  Born in Rumford, Maine, she was the daughter of the late John and Madeline Arsnault Petrie.  She resided many years in Pittston and the last 15 years in Mountaintop.  She was a member of St. Mark's Church, Inkerman.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellsworth Miller, in 1977.  Surviving are daughter, Mrs. Elaine Socci, Mountaintop; sons, Richard, Clarks Summit; Gerald, Eau Claire, Wis.; Ronald, Pittston; sister, Mrs. Noel Thibodeau, Dixfield, Maine; 19 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren.  Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday from the Frank A. Gubbiotti Funeral Home, Exeter, with a funeral mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mark's Church.  Interment will be in Mt. View Cemetery, Harding.  Friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. today.

Leo Elmer Pitre:  The Lewiston Daily Sun (Lewiston, ME), Wednesday, 3 May 1978:  Mexico - Leo E. Petrie, 66, husband of Laura Ross Petrie died early Tuesday morning at his home at 55 Main St.  He was born in Mexico, Dec. 4, 1911, the son of John and Madeline Arsenault Petrie.  A life-time resident of this community, he attended schools in Mexico and graduated from Mexico High School with the Class of 1930.  Following his schooling, he was employed for 42 years by the former Oxford Paper Co., Rumford, in the maintenance department until his retirement in 1975.  He was a member of both the 25 and 40 Year Club at the Oxford Paper Co.  He was married in Mexico to Laura Ross on Dec. 21, 1936, who survives.  Other survivors include two sons, William L. Petrie of Mexico; and Howard G. Thurston, Skowhegan; three sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Miller, Pa.; Mrs. Cleona Thibodeau, Dixfield; and Mrs. Irene Bernard, Mexico; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.

 

Cleona Josephine Pitre:  Sun Journal (Lewiston, ME), Wednesday, 7 April 1999:  Rumford - Cleona M. Thibodeau 85, widow of Noel J. Thibodeau of the Canton Point Road, Duxfield, died Tuesday, April 6 shortly after her arrival at the Rumford Community Hospital.  She was born Aug. 26, 1913 in Rumford the daughter of Joseph J. and Madeline Arsenault Petrie.  A resident of the greater Rumford area all of her life, she was a communicant of St. Joseph's Mission in Dixfield and was a member of St. Joseph's Guild.  She was educated in local schools and graduated from Stephens High School in Rumford in the Class of 1931.  She is survived by a son, Donald J., of Mexico; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by a daughter, Barbara Packard in 1989.

 

Marion Irene Pitre:  The Lewiston Daily Sun (Lewiston, ME), Thursday, 18 February 1982:  Mexico - Irene Marion Bernard, 62, wife of John J. Bernard Sr. of 91 Harlow Hill, died Wednesday at Rumford Community Hospital, where she had been a patient for 10 days.  She was born April 25, 1919 in this community, the daughter of John A. and Madelyn Arsenault Petrie.  She lived in this community all her life and was a communicant of St. Theresa's Church.  Other survivors include a son, John Jr. of Mexico; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Jean) Lambert of Rumford and Mrs. Arthur (Janice) Bordeau of Mexico; two sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Miller of Mountaintop, Penn. and Mrs. Noel (Cleona) Thibodeau of Dixfield; 11 grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.
