Obituary: The Windsor Star (Windsor, ON), Tuesday, 3 November 1959: Wallaceburg - Peats - Arthur, 62, died at Sydenham District Hospital, Monday, following a long illness. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Albert (Viola) Thompson, and Mrs. Jack (Lillian) Thompson, both of Wallaceburg, and Mrs. Herman (Marjorie) Smith, Detroit; two sons, Arthur and Marvin, both of Wallaceburg, and one brother, David, Wallaceburg. Mrs. Peats died five years ago. Funeral services will be held at the Douglas-Haycock Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Thursday. Burial in Riverview Cemetery.

Obituary: The Windsor Star (Windsor, ONT), Monday, 11 April 1955: Wallaceburg - A native of Wallaceburg, where she was born 54 years ago, Mrs. Madeline Peats, wife of Arthur Peats, died Saturday afternoon in St. Joseph's Hospital, Chatham, following a lengthy illness. Services will be held Tuesday. Widely known through the district, she was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Viola Thompson, Mrs. Lillian Thompson and Mrs. Marjorie Smith, all of Wallaceburg; two sons, Arthur and Marvin, both of Wallaceburg; seven brothers, Del, Maurice and Joe Furtah, all of Wallaceburg, Reg of Detroit, Kenneth of Lansing, Michigan, David of Marine City, Michigan, and Don of Detroit; one sister, Mrs. Irma Smith, Detroit; and 12 grandchildren. Services will be held Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at the Douglas Haycock Home for Funerals, Wallaceburg, with the Rev. Edgar Burritt officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
